Jethro asks. “Once, there was an Omerian hybrid, wolf, dragon, and phoenix. Her name was Shayla, and Shayla has powers like none before. Upon meeting her mate, Shayla was killed, and the Moon Goddess locked away her soul. She did so because Shayla was Selene’s favourite creation, and she wasn’t ready to let her go just yet.

"Game's on, ladies. And I'm rewriting the board." The city bled neon beyond the windows, but inside, my pulse matched its throb—strategy laced with something darker, hungrier. Kenji confessed, Harlan bled, and I countered. But his eyes haunted, obsidian promises of ruin and claim. The deal struck. The hunt is true. And in that electric void, I felt it—power shifting, not surrender, but collision. Two storms, knees bent, circling for the kill.

My group begins to chant as I drink from the chalice of black waters, “Charge our blood, turn as poison, nectar to the wise. Breed within us black serpents, sharp of tooth and merciless of fang. We shall be the unfaceable weapons, fill our bodies with venom. We shall become as ferocious dragons, cloaked in the fearsome rays of your sight. We are creating our Deific beings from thee. With this Blade, we cut weakness and emerge Godlike. We shall be your children in this world! Whoever shall look upon us shall collapse in utter terror!” We chanted nine times as I took nine sips. “Our bodies shall rise continually and never turn away from challenges! We summon thee, Mush-Hushshu Dragon, Lahmu, H

The spell he whispered drew thick dark drops of liquid leaking from his body, rolling down his arm, and out. "Risthor tiem uhlanor yreit." These miniscule droplets, converged into a long arm-length spiral lake, twisting and circling the white floating rocks, slowly seeping into them, soaking the crystals in deep blackness. These were what Ekron called: The Shards Of Darkness. His darkness. Another snap from his fingers, forced each shard to appear in front of a lord, a supposed demigod he had summon, and so did a key: brilliantly shimmering, fighting off the dark progeny from the shards beside it.

“That was his plan. There still wouldn’t be anywhere for the vampires to go. Or us for that matter.” Marx was wracking his brain, trying to put words to the sinking feeling in his gut. They were all missing a key piece of the puzzle. Salvay’s end game. “Sven intended to rule this world. Creating a new race of werewolves using the Book of Shadows. What does Salvay plan to do with all this chaos that he is creating?” “He went to the Zanu Desert for a reason,” Martha said. “You found the body of some of their men, but you did not find Sven or Salvay.”

’ She pointed to the front door, ‘Motorbikes waiting for you honey’ Atalanta hugged her Mother tightly, ‘I love you Mama’ She whispered fighting tears and her Mother gulped, ‘I love you to baby’ Then she was running and throwing her leg over the powerful bike, a gun over her shoulder and another in her pocket as she turned it around and sped off down the road her Mother cried, ‘Please God protect my little girl’ She prayed but somehow she knew that God had abandoned the human race to the fate it deserved. The humans never really stood a chance, Shifters and Immortals working together gave them so much advantage the fact the humans outnumbered them by six to one made no difference. They were

Inside: Not yet. I began scanning the shelves. Titles of all kinds filled the aisles. My hand slid across the spines at my eye level. A hard-covered green book smelling faintly of old paper drew my attention: The Origin of Elemental Sorcery. Then another—its gold embossed symbols of the four elements shimmering under the light: A History of Ignith, Hydros, Terragaia, and Glacius. Moving to the next shelf, I spotted a worn leather-bound book, edges frayed from overuse: Hybrid Wolves with Magical Signatures. And a thin one compared to the rest: The Forbidden Transition Between Elements.

Lysander gives me a pointed look. I don’t know why, but his words made a spike of anger flare within me. “You want me to sit and hide? I have never been afraid if anything in my life. I refuse to wallow behind these wards afraid of what destiny has in store for me. “You may think me a scared little girl who is completely oblivious to world around me. Too afraid to stand on her own feet. But I can feel my fate is drawing nearer. Each day I stay here, my bond to Lucas becomes stronger. My enemies drawing that much nearer. My mind becomes clearer.” With my words something seems to click within me. Lilith’s stories, my families connection to Hell's fire, the war raging between all creatures. It

He glanced at Colt on top of his giant horse and asked Lucian, "Who's this motherfucker, and why he's still alive?" OK. No one wanted to help me. Great. "Salamanders! Where are you?!" I yelled at the inside of the yard. Mr. Salamander crawled out of the yard immediately. As soon as his giant head popped up from the gate of the yard, all the soldiers were taken aback. "What in the Moon Goddess' name is that?!" "Is that a monster?!" "It's a fucking giant lizard!" "I fucking hate the North. Everything here is huge. Fucking out of proportion."

***TRIGGER WARNING: Up until now, this story has been fairly tame. From this point forward, Wolfblood takes a dark turn. For those who read the first book of the series, Wolfbane, this book is much darker and deals with more serious, real-world issues. If you prefer light-hearted romances without violence, I advise you not to continue. If, however, you enjoy thrilling werewolf romance novels, please continue with Wolfblood! I promise it's worth the ride.***
