A story of a wolf with a soul that refused to leave the world of the living. It told of a warrior who died in battle, his body cold, his mate devastated. But she didn’t let go.

I narrowed my gaze, trying to make sense of the situation. "Shoo!" I shouted, waving my sword at the cat. "Go away!" The cat meowed, then turned and scampered away, disappearing into the darkness. I closed the door to my quarters, leaning back against it as I let out a long sigh. It had been a long day, full of battles and surprises. As I slumped onto the couch, a smile played at the corners of my mouth. The triumph of reclaiming my throne, coupled with the unexpected passion of my encounter with Otsana, had left me feeling both exhausted and exhilarated.
