Hi all. I apologize for being absent the last week. I was a much needed break from all things electronic and somewhat out of my control. I am back, diving into the conclusion to The Warrior's mate and concepts for new stories to follow once I am done here. I appreciate all of the readers who have been following me since the beginning and any new readers just joining in.

I was dumbfounded, and I didn't understand why the Warriors didn't support each other against Rogues but slaughter each other. Elias clenched his fist. "Because they want to compete for the top spot. As I said, this is no longer a contest; it's more like a real war, and only the winner is the last one standing. Moreover, in the process of fighting with Rogues, warriors will kill them and steal the silver fangs that are worn around their necks. By the end of the third day, whoever is alive and has the most gamblers becomes the winner. So the warriors would hide in the forest to save their strength, usually until the last day they showed up and slaughtered each other."

Serena's POV Ten years later. Silver City. I stood by the floor-to-ceiling window in my top-floor office at The Claws headquarters, looking down at the city that never slept. The neon lights below flickered like stars scattered across the night. "Ms. Serena, congratulations on winning 'Security Strategist of the Year' again," my assistant, Maya, walked in, holding a heavy invitation. "That's the fifth time." The fifth time. In ten years, I’d gone from a heartbroken girl to a legend in the world of werewolf security.

Some followed willingly but it took them years to convince the rest of the old tribe to join them. Alarick was born right in this new, different transition. With time, everyone began to notice the advantages of having a home that you couldn't carry on your back. Twenty five years old and carrying on the old man’s legacy, being the warlord of an established territory, he realized that he liked it. It was great to have a place to call yours, after all. Homes that put roots on the ground and demanded you to look after. Despite a lot of talking between his soldiers that the wild life was something to miss, Alarick found he liked looking after an immovable home.

"Although I still have a lot to speak, we are not here to have this discussion here. What we need to concentrate on is our enemy. But before that, let me put forth a warning. From now on, if I hear one wrong word against women from any of you, then you will be answerable to my sword." As soon as these words left her mouth, audible gasps reverberated in the room. Everybody knew that Raelynn was the most formidable warrior in the kingdom of Volar and winning against her in a one on one battle was impossible, even for the other three Commanders. She was just the best.

It was going to be a long year once the trials started. The shift changed, and so the Warriors heading home walked back with me. It was peaceful, but I would never let anyone know that. There was no time for peace, not while there were wars raging and a vile Vampire to hunt down. There was no room for weaknesses in my Warriors. I knew they had them, but they did not let them show; Made them strong.

I can feel all of them and I can tell that they are divided in their battles, getting attacked on two sides by two different Alphas. “Has he put warriors on the cells?” I ask. “Yes, Luna,” one of the warriors that’s being treated says. “If Anna is stitching you up, when she’s done, you can replace one of the warriors guarding the hospital,” I tell them and several warriors get up to replace the ones watching the hospital. I jerk, feeling pain down my thigh a moment before it cuts off. Warren just got injured but he shut off the link so I couldn’t feel it. “I need a status update on my mate,” I say, letting Noelle finish stitching up the warrior I was working on and moving to another one.

"We were just talking about a book series. In the book, the werewolves and werelions are always at war and we just want the war to end," Danica said and Mr. Wilkinson stared at her without saying a word. Danica tried to figure out what was going on in his mind but he kept a straight face. "What's the name of the book? I'd love to read it." He finally commented after having a deep thought. Danica stared blankly at Mr. Wilkinson who looked down at her and expected her to say something.
