I HEARD HIM SAY " DADDY"
I muttered under my breath.
From my vantage point in the corner, I could watch every small movement, every hesitation, every spark of defiance. Lisa was fumbling now, unsure of where to start, and Tala… Tala was already in her element, swift and confident. Part of me enjoyed the certainty of the outcome—or at least, what I thought was certain. But another part, the part I would never admit even to myself, was curious.
Curious to see if Lisa would crumble entirely or somehow scrape together a victory against all odds. Either way, it would be entertaining, and for the first time in a while, I felt the quiet thrill of watching fate unfold exactly as I intended… or maybe, slightly differently.
