I nodded my head, and he took a heavy breath of relief. I hated myself for being human, filled with a ton of disadvantages. Looking around in the bright moonlight, I realized we were surrounded by the troops of Rowan making a circle around me, Rowan, and Orson. “Don’t worry, Aylin. We got this.” Waylen speaks in his jubilant tone, standing in front of worriers to lead them against the small battalion of rogue vampires. The surrounding was filled with the sound of growls and screams. “I will handle myself. You go.” I reply, but he stared at me with amusement shining in his eyes.

Zeke POV I swallowed hard, forcing myself to turn slowly and push myself off the door, rolling my shoulders back and dragging in a deep breath. I didn't have time to wallow in guilt or question my choices. I had to focus on her. As I rounded the corner to the stairs, I nearly tripped over Wayne's body, sprawled across the floor. Fuck. For a second, I just stared down at him, my pulse still hammering like a war drum in my chest. He wasn't moving—completely out cold. A small smear of blood marked the floor where his head had hit it on the way down.

"I don't think so." "That is a bad answer." "I don't know. I ran. I fell. My cousin—" His voice breaks. "My cousin got grabbed." Maya closes her eyes for half a second. There is always a cousin. A mother. A husband. A kid. A person just out of reach. The apocalypse does not arrive as an event. It arrives as a series of missing names. "Do you have weapons?" "No." "Lift your shirt. Slowly." Skinny ribs. Bruises. No bite marks.

But they didn't expect that Wayne had made such a big move that they became afraid. Wayne frowned. "What are you afraid of? Go get Mimi out of the sack and let's get out of the van." While driving, Zayn saw the van in front of him stop. His eyes darkened. He did not know what Wayne wanted to do. At that moment, Wayne suddenly got out of the van, took a knife, and pressed it against Mimi's neck.

He said but came to a halt in the main lobby. "You three going somewhere?" "Blast it!" Wayne said growling "I have no choice... Keep him busy!" He said stepping aside. Hector drew on his lightning and fired but in a flash Vlad vanished, the lights suddenly went out aiding the vampire further. Wayne drew a deep breath and howled as loud as he could, hoping the windows of this place didn't dampen his call for aid, he didn't care who heard him, as long as his pack does, but he was quickly silenced and Kaylee screamed.

My tears gather and start to fall. The door bursts open and Beta Ezra walks into the commotion, looking as bewildered as ever. “What’s going on?” He asks, disoriented. “Take that bastard out of here” Hades orders, pointing at Wayne who has a bleeding mouth and a broken nose. Ezra listens immediately and drags Wayne to his feet, before leaving with him. “You monster!” I turn and yell at Hades when it’s just the two of us. I can’t bear it anymore.

She said as she handed them the sticks that they never even noticed she was holding. They used the sticks to clear the path way and they all walked right into the tunnel. Where they saw a bed and some food supplies on top of the bed. " I see you guys made it past the wolfsbane." Darren said and they all turned to face him. " Is this all of you? Just Kimmel, Kyle, Kayla and Dean? That's very insulting." He said as he plopped on the bed and burst open a Dorito with his claws. Kyle knew it wasn't Darren and he had a good feeling that the rest of them realized it too. Darren wasn't very proud of his vampire side, he wouldn't just exhibit that side of him so easily.

Wayne leads us to his room. We get to the door and my heart aches immediately. His body is badly mangled, and his left arm is missing. The stump is bandaged and I sigh deeply but Ryan is right, he’s alive and that’s what matters. I grab a chair and pull it next to his bedside and Dr. Wayne smiles, “He should be waking up soon.” I nod, squeezing his hand and Ryan sits beside me.

Wayne looked up and saw some of his uncle's warriors part side by side, creating a path for him to pass. Waylon walked to the rails of the upper level and glared down at him. "From what I see your numbers have dwindled down a great deal. Not that you stood a chance before, anyway," he sneered to the soldiers on the same level with him, that were held ransom at sword point. "So, what will it be Wayne, surrender yourself or watch your men's heads fall to the ground. Your choice," Waylon said nonchalantly.

Surprisingly he understood the human invasions, the silver bullets. Thane’s heart skipped a beat. “Who did you say runs this foundation?” His voice had dropped an octave. Wayne looked up at him. “Justine Anderson.” Roan stepped forward, his expression darkening. “How many more of you are here?” Wayne turned to glance at his fallen comrade lying still on the floor before answering, his eyes clouding over. “There were twelve of us. Commander Harris and eight others should have returned to New York by now. The three of us who were captured didn’t fall back quickly enough when... when the werewolves attacked.”
