Dozens of crows rose from the trees at once, shrieking and circling above them. The air grew heavy, the ground trembling under her boots. Kael looked up at the sky. "The Bloodbound has awakened." Seraphina didn't understand what he meant-she only knew one thing. Her life had just changed forever.

He snaps shaking his head, I shake my head “No it’s not that, he’s different but it’s a good different, there bond is beyond anything i've ever felt before and her emotions were bigger than anything i've ever felt before. I stabbed over my head, dragging the blade with me towards its rear with a spill of silk. Its belly exploded in scurrying baby spiders, each the size of a housecat. The newly birthed young devoured their mother from the inside out, her screams shrill and lengthy. I ran up onto her fallen corpse, the hard shell of her carapace shattering under my heels, and leapt free, seizing upon a strand of thread that was suspended from a tree. The baby spiders surged up the trunk and I tied the thread around my waist so that I dangled over the massacre, as they pursued me.

The strands of webs struck the shields and fell to the ground, which seemed to decay and hiss with smoke upon contact with the webs as if they were made of acid. Wilbur gripped the historical halberd, charging into the crowd of black spiders. Just then, the black spiders outside began quickly crawling over. It was not long before the spiders had completely surrounded the two men. Wilbur waved the halberd and a powerful wave of thunderous spiritual energy flashed, sending the dozen or so spiders in front flying. The black spiders exploded into pieces mid-air, landing on the ground before they were quickly absorbed by the other spiders. They seemed oblivious to the fact that they had just lost

Standing by with her hands covering her chest, she reached out to grasp the leg that Spider Queen used to attack her and forcefully snapped it at once. The spider screamed in pain in an instant. It glared at the Dodge Tomahawk, its eight enraged compound eyes flashing with red light. It shrilled, and then its mouth moved, as if something was going to spurt out of it. Nicole saw the anomaly and quickly bounced backward. The next second, the position where she had just stood a second ago, was hit by the white slime-like substance that shot out of the spider's mouth. The ground was corroded and turned black in an instant.

My vision blurred, my ears rang. It hurt. It hurt so much. I saw Kael shift into a massive wolf and charge beneath the broodmother’s belly. A piercing screech echoed, followed by the sound of tearing flesh and a wet, disgusting burst. The stench exploded through the air, making it hard to breathe. Then, from the treetops above, bodies began falling like rain. Dead spiders are raining down. I couldn’t move at all, not even to dodge. One spider fell straight toward me, and I accepted it.

Every instinct I had screamed to pull her back, to drag us all out of this realm and slam the door shut behind us. We can’t, Ace, my wolf murmured. If we leave it, it follows. The realm trembled again. Spiderweb cracks began to spread through the distance, thin and glittering. Each time one formed, a flicker of something leaked through—an army that never marched, a city that never burned, a version of Nyx dying alone on a battlefield we’d never seen. “Sybil? ” I called into the tether, feeling my words vibrate through the bond like sound through stone. “How long until this place spills over? ”

She clenched around him, milking him, crying out his name as waves crashed over her again. Damien followed seconds later, thrusting deep one final time and spilling inside her with a guttural roar. Heat flooded her, pulse after pulse, sealing the ritual and something far more permanent. He collapsed over her, both of them trembling, sweat slicking their skin despite the cold. His tongue soothed the bite mark, lapping gently until the sting faded to a warm throb. The pack remained silent, awed or stunned or both. The high elder stepped forward. “The first claiming is complete. The vessel has received the seed. The true Luna may now be bound.”

Anine asked. "Your daughter needs the blood of the deity on it. When he appeares in human form, give him a cut. Do not wrestle with him. Just a cut. The blood of that body he uses is the only thing that is needed on this sword. Ajonwa is a Spirit but he uses the body to wreak havoc. Get the blood on the sword and he would be no more. "He would kill me!" Anine said almost loudly. "Once his blood touches the sword, he would be rendered powerless and he will never use that body again. Can you do it?
