Romans & histoires Weight Swap Stories

Julia's face was ghostly pale as she begged for mercy. "It was… It was someone I found. T-There's someone in Senton City who can swap bodies for a few days, and then things will return to normal. Norman, I just love you too much. Cindy gets to have you every day, and I'm going crazy with jealousy. I never wanted to hurt her… I just want to spend a few more days with you!" But Julia's confession didn't move Norman. All he could think about was that I was gone, and what he should do now that I didn't want him anymore.

Caleb catches the corner brace with both hands. Catches it. The container weighs more than a car. The swing should tear his shoulders out. It does not. He plants his boots, muscles bunching, and stops the drift dead. For one clean second, nobody understands what they have seen. Then Caleb seems to remember himself. His face twists. Late. Badly. He staggers backward with an exaggerated grunt, shaking his arms like a man who has just performed impressive but plausible effort and would very much like applause to obscure the physics.

Gestures were minimal but telling: a slight nod, a measured pause before advancing a document, an exchange of looks that spoke louder than words. Everything stayed on course. Formal. Strictly professional. Until lunch. It was something small. A gesture, yes. But a calculated one. While reviewing integration figures and critical points on the roadmap, Victoria disrupted the technical flow with a movement: she slightly turned her tray, bringing Benjamin a small steaming dish. “Tteokbokki,” she said in an almost confidential tone. “You can’t come to Korea and leave without trying this.” Benjamin looked up. Didn’t drop his pen. Only a slight raise of one eyebrow marked the pause.

I almost told her, “I don’t blame you anymore. Just leave, and don’t come back.” But the tabby’s voice stopped me cold. “Sigh. Don’t be fooled by how hard she’s apologizing. This is all an act. She made a new deal with the system. As long as you say you forgive her or that you’re not mad anymore, she can instantly swap her weight with yours. “Sigh, what a clingy nightmare. Why is she so obsessed with targeting you? “But it makes sense. Once the system locks in a weight after the swap, it can’t be changed. No matter how much she eats, she’ll never gain it back. She’s stuck looking like this forever. No wonder she’s desperate to swap with you again.”

Mia's and Finn’s cries mixed with Marissa’s shrieking drew attention from the neighbors. Slowly, people began gathering around, rubbing their sleepy eyes. After witnessing the scene, their eyes widened and a neighbor hurriedly chimed in, "Goodness gracious, Sophie, take it easy! Marissa’s old. She can’t handle that kind of rough treatment.” I spun toward them, my voice cutting through the murmur. "Oh, I’m supposed to take it easy on the woman who swapped my son for someone else’s child? She even tried to steal my parents’ inheritance and give it all to her granddaughter.

A new place, a new chapter. A few years later, Sophie was also arrested—charged with defrauding Jayden's family. Her case opened a floodgate of investigations, uncovering countless other scams. The amount of money involved was staggering. She was sentenced to life in prison. I felt nothing about it. Maybe this was what people meant when they talked about karma. Years passed. One evening, pregnant and calm, I walked along the river with Nick. The scenery was gentle, and we breathed it in quietly. I had slowly stepped back from my family's business and was ready to devote myself entirely to our new life, to the child soon to arrive. Nick seemed content with that. He held my hand as we walked,

"Evelyn, I hate you. I'll live your life better than you ever could. Only I can give Mom and Dad what they want." Before leaving, she even tipped off the boss and staff to make things harder for me. She turned misery into hell. So this little taste of suffering—how could it ever compare? And then, Amelia started falling apart. Her face so pale she had to cake on foundation. Meanwhile, after a year of real food, rest, and the vitamins the doctor ordered, my body finally bounced back. I looked healthier. More alive. *** Before long, SAT day hit. All three of them looked relieved.

Shawn placed a slice of steak into his mouth and said, “Send my compliments to the chef, she isn’t as good as the majordomo but it’s good.” Joshua rolled his eyes as he covered himself with the blanket, “I need to go on a diet.” “Why? You look fine to me,” Shawn said. Joshua forced a smile, “Really? Well, I feel like shit, my womb is still swollen and all.” “You just need to rest Joshua,” Shawn said. “Mn,” Joshua hummed and closed his eyes making himself comfortable. “All you do is eat,” Joshua complained. Shawn licked his finger, “Yes, but I don’t gain weight, I’m all muscle.”

Ow. It was barely a word—just air and pain. She barely noticed. Her whole body felt distant, as if she’d left it behind at the threshold of good news. She read the sentence again. Each reading chipped away at disbelief, carving reality from hope. Then again. She mouthed the word, shaping it with silent lips. Accepted. It seemed to pulse on the screen, a beacon of possibility. She had been accepted into the master’s program. She stared at the phrase, letting it settle into her bones, heavier and brighter than she’d imagined. The rest of the letter blurred beneath her thumb.

That was because I knew she wasn't truly seeking forgiveness. She had made another deal with the system. All she needed was for me to say I didn't blame her or that I wasn't angry anymore, and she'd be able to swap our weights again in an instant. I also learned that our weights couldn't be changed once the system locked in a new body weight. That meant she would never gain her weight back, no matter how much she ate. She would be stuck looking like a half-starved, barely human stick figure forever. The thought almost made me smile.
