Many wolves have vampire mates, but it's not widely known. Normally if a wolf never finds his mate especially if he or she travels looking it is likely they have a vampire mate. Many do not know this because wolves do not like the idea of mixing with vampires. So many of them will reject their mate if they do find that it is a vampire and then they take a chosen mate. Since the pull for vampires isn't as strong many vampires do not mind and will accept the rejection, but they will always keep a close eye on their mate

"Female wolves should maintain their dignity. The elders are watching, and many packmates are present. Please don't continue this charade." She regarded me with seemingly sympathetic eyes that still managed to accuse me of embarrassing herself. I saw my father, Alexander, standing stiffly among the gathered wolves, his expression livid as he attempted to explain the situation to the pack elders. I took a deep breath, my wolf finally calm and resolved. "Today truly is my mating ceremony," I declared firmly. "My mate is on his way." I retrieved my communication crystal and contacted the first name listed.

Do you know what that is?” I nodded and she took that as her cue to continue. ” In these types of stories, the wives had a soulmate or mate who was the other half of their soul. In these stories, the mates were completely in love and they would do anything for each other. Nothing and no one would take the place of a mate.” She sighs and I see the pain in her eyes.

Mary immediately carried a crying Selena into her bedroom. "What happened to mommy and daddy? Is he going to die?" Selena asked through sobs. "My dear, your mother is his mate, so he will live. She'll keep him alive," Mary said, while soothing the little girl. "Mate?" Selena inquired. "Yes, they are soulmates. The mate bond between werewolves is a powerful thing. Well, a mate is basically a life partner for Werewolves. You see, they bond for life. They only get one chance to claim someone as their permanent partner, and they will love that partner for the rest of their lives. Some Werewolves do break that pact, though. I honestly don't know what happens to those who do that. All I know is that they're supposed to be bonded to one pers

Lydia cocks her head curiously, “Explain that concept.” I sigh and fold my legs under me as I unfold a shirt and look at it, it would do as fitting cloth for now, “Werewolves have mates, that one person meant for you for life and when they find each other they are inseparable. It’s a connection much stronger than the one you felt when you walked into the camp.” “So, the fiancée that…” “Yeah, he was my mate,” I admit and I go ahead to tell her what really happened. Lydia listens quietly till I am done.
