I’ll protect your terrified ass,” Ghost teased, reaching the second-floor landing. “Why do you call me lover boy?” I mumbled, frowning. Each door to the room we passed by was open, and all four were empty, even the bathroom.

He looked a bit perplexed, and she pulled him away from the counter, standing on tiptoe to whisper, "I mean... this place is creepy. I'm afraid that it's haunted." He gave a low laugh, "Maggie, you're being unreasonable. There's no such thing as ghosts." "How can you be so sure?" She hissed. He thought about it for a moment and shrugged, "Well, I've never seen one." "Just because you never saw it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist!" He regarded her with a speculating look, "So, are you suggesting that we share a room?"
