“You picked up fast.” I exhaled softly. “Yeah, well… I didn’t want you thinking I fell asleep.” Derek chuckled quietly. “Good.” My brain was still catching up with the night. “So,” I said, leaning back against my pillows, “what happened after I ran off?” Derek laughed immediately. “Oh man… you should have stayed.” “Why?” “Because it turned into chaos.” I grinned. “Tell me.” “Well,” Derek began, “the second you disappeared into the woods, the old couple started panicking.”

I wished him happiness and gradually let go. It wasn't until an accident that changed everything. Derek's parents left for an extended hunting expedition, and suddenly, the large house was left with just the two of us. I never expected his heat period to come so suddenly. In the middle of the night, a loud crash woke me. I found Derek collapsed beside the couch. The moment I approached, his eyes turned red as he grabbed my wrist. The aura of an Alpha pinned me in place. He pushed me down beneath him.

He said luck was not going to save him. Eli spoke. His voice was calm. He said Derek was stronger than he thought. Derek looked at Eli. His eyes were hard. He said Eli had taken everything from him. Eli said Derek had given everything away. Derek was quiet. Then he looked at me. He asked if I would kiss him. One last time. On the forehead. Like Eli used to kiss me. I walked to the bed. I leaned down. I kissed his forehead. He closed his eyes.

I was smiling beside Alpha Lucas, I couldn't wait for the day to be over so I can spend quality time with Alpha Lucas planning our wedding. Finally, it was time for alpha Lucas and I to dance, I was shy but I had to make some moves, we stood up and walked to the stage holding each other's hands. The dance didn't last as long as I expected, we suddenly stopped hearing the music and turned around to see what made the music stop suddenly. Everyone was shocked to see Alpha Derek standing by the speaker with blazing eyes, he had turned off the music and was charging in anger. "What is wrong with him?" Alpha Lucas asked no one in particular.

chuckles uncle Gabriel. “I wanted a song that let you know how much I love and appreciate you for everything you have done and sacrificed for me over the last seven years. I am not sure I would’ve been able to go through what I did without you,” I say with tears in my eyes. “I love you too Davina.” I look over and see Calista dancing with Derek trying not to cry herself. I figured this would be a good pick for Derek and his mom too. Looks like I was right. The song comes to a close. The DJ puts on some popular song and everyone walks onto the dance floor. Derek and I leave looking for the girls. I asked the DJ to play My Little Girl by Tim McGraw next. Derek and I will dance together with th

I pushed him away, trying to create some distance between us. But Derek wouldn't let me go. He held my shoulder and shook me. "Because I just learnt you're going to the dance with golden boy, that's why." My surprise must have shown on my face. "How the hell did you know that?" I asked, feeling like my privacy had been invaded. "Because he told me. Why did you accept to be his partner, huh? This guy sexually harassed you the other day," Derek said, his voice full of concern. I couldn't look him in the face.

I said as I snapped my hand off both of their grip. “Now look the song is almost over” I said as I tried to walk away Derick grabbed my hand and said “If you will dance with me then I will ask the DJ to play the song again” “Really??” I asked as he nodded “I will too” Davis added “Okay, I will dance with Derick, Davis get out of here now” I said drunkenly as I pushed him out. Derick went straight to the DJ and the song started all over again “May I have this dance my lady” he asked again as I nodded.

Her body was pressed close against his arm. Someone raised a glass and shouted with a grin, "To a toast, Mrs. Hubbard!" Lessie blushed and waved them off. "Stop it. Celine will be upset if she hears that." The guy laughed even harder. "When isn't she upset? "Derek ditched her at the city hall 18 times, and she still waits around for him every single time, doesn't she?" The entire table erupted into laughter. My hand holding the wine glass froze for a second, just as I heard someone toss the conversation back to Derek.

The live band began to play a classical tune that was perfect for waltzing and everyone automatically moved toward the edge of the room to create some space for dancing at the center. “May I have this dance, Lady Rachel?” Derek asked her, extending his gloved hand to her. “Of course, you may, Sir Derek Fraser,” she said and giggled. “Although I must warn you, I haven’t danced the waltz in quite a long time. I may have forgotten how it’s done.” “Have no fear, my fair lady. I shall remind you,” he said and led her to the dance floor. He placed one hand on her lower waist and the other held up one of her gloved hands.

Derek was surprised, but no more surprised than Josh who was still sitting there, wondering why she had even saved him. Didn't she hate his kind? Wasn't it why she cheated on Chloe with Derek, not minding that he was her ex and Chloe was his girlfriend? Pah! A noise rang out in the room and Josh looked shock seeing Audrey slap Derek hard across the face. "And what If we fucked? What is your business, Derek? I thought we fucking broke up, you thick-skulled asshole. Didn't you get the memo? " Despite being slapped across the face, Derek still held her hand, on one knee, looking pleading.
