What Happens If You Lose A Library Book Novels & Stories

Mia's POV Today’s lack of a call from Mayor Pippins is a good sign. A sign that I still have a job, and that I still can make things work here. I pray the heavens I can stay away from trouble from now on. There was a book missing. Samuel Richardson’s famous Pamela was nowhere to be found. I checked the library’s log online to see who had last checked it out, but to my surprise, it said the book had been returned two weeks ago. So where was it? I scoured the classical novels section, hoping it was just out of place.

It's really annoying, with so many things I can forget why my book is still there. At 11pm, after eating dinner I went up to my room again. I still can't move on from the book I left behind. My Mom noticed earlier that I looked sad so I told her the reason and she said that I shouldn't be sad because she will buy me a new one. But how? Based on the publishing company announcement there will be no second batch for that book. Haysst. It’s really annoying.

But being 5'2 has its downsides. Groaning, I storm off to beckon one of the students reading upfront, but the entire library is cleared out. I contemplate dubbing the librarian, but the woman is past her sixties and that'll be hard. Guess the book isn't meant to be mine. I'll get After instead. I frown back to the shelves, but little wonder how a book disappears after barely a minute. Could've sworn it was right there. My hand couldn't reach it either. I check both sides, but the entire space is cleared.

The black pen in his hand cracked a little further. "I lost." The little girl shook her head. "No." "Both of you did." Silence settled over the library once more. Suddenly... one of the floating books slammed shut. Then another. Then hundreds. Within seconds... millions of books began closing one after another. Boom. Boom. Boom. The sound echoed endlessly through the impossible library. Adrian looked around. "What's happening?" The White Book answered by opening once more. This time... it showed a map. Not of worlds.

I keep my head down as I make my way toward the library. Once inside the main library, I drift toward the reading lounge, pretending to leaf through a thick botany book. I wait several more minutes, eyes anxiously flicking toward the arched windows and the double doors to see if anyone else is entering. When it’s clear that no one is coming, I shut the book and quietly push it back onto the shelf.

Countless books would be lost forever. The thought made her chest ache, but there was nothing she could do. She avoided cameras, stacked the books with others, and quietly slid them into her storage space. Stealing books wasn't right, but the library would be destroyed soon anyway. These books were part of human civilization. Nicole couldn't save everything. If the disasters ever ended, she would donate what she took. Edward called again. Nicole blocked his number without hesitation. After leaving campus, she went to a large supermarket. She rode the elevator up to the rooftop parking lot, walked around carefully, then came back down.

I walk to the library to return some extra books . " Please , Alexis ? You're my best friend . It'll only take two minutes . " Kayla had said as she munched on crackers and watched her favorite show . I sniff . " I'm being used aren't I ? What has my life come to ? " I whisper to myself as I stand next to the checkout counter and swipe the books on the scanner before putting them in the cart . I whistle as I wait for the books to process the accepting procedure and clear them from the issuing card .

You wrote in the letter that more than five thousand books were recovered, and some of our readers related that books went missing from their private libraries. Can you tell us about it?" Mr. Cuffe asked, and this time it was Selena that chose to answer the question. "Sure, we can. I would say to the readers that wrote about the missing books that all Hogwarts' library's books are marked by the school magics the moment that the said book is added to the library's collection. That is to allow the library to recall all 'lost' books back to it, no matter where it is. From what I could understand, a 'recall' has not been done in the last fifty years

I couldn’t afford the fine, but if I didn’t return them soon, I’d lose my borrowing rights. So, I walked to the library. The cold bit through my sleeves. My toes were numb by the time I got there. The librarian gave me the look. The we-know-you’re-late-and-broke look. I apologized, dropped the books, and promised to pay the fine next week. Before I left, I walked through the shelves and ran my fingers along the spines. So many names. So many stories. I wondered if one day someone would shelve mine here, tucked between titles no one had heard of, waiting for the right person to find it.
