One of the younger officers leaned forward. “He completed missions people said were impossible.” Another added, “He extracted teams no one could reach.” A third shook his head. “There are stories about him in training.” I stared at Jason. “You have training stories?” Scott lifted his glass. “They study him.” Jason muttered something under his breath that sounded like regret.

Veronica glanced briefly at Jason, his face was wrapped in a frown and she wondered why, it's hard to see him in that shape "it's something bothering you?" He shrugged "just a story Anna told me" he whispered softly. "What's in the story?" "Just some love that can't be developed, nothing much." "I see" she sighed "and you are affected by it?" "A little bit." Veronica smiled "is it a true life story?" "No" Anna answered.

"Things that I'm not proud of." Janet's brow furrowed, and she looked at him with concern. "What kind of things?" Jason hesitated, his gaze dropping to the floor. "I was part of a gang." Janet's eyes widened in shock, and she pulled away slightly. "A gang?" Jason nodded, his jaw clenched. "I did things that I'm not proud of, things that I can't even talk about."

Chapter 57. Jason "I couldn't believe it," Jason said, his voice filled with frustration. "After everything I had done to ensure that those mercenaries wouldn't expose me, I thought I was finally in the clear.
