What Is The Power Of Language 소설 & 이야기

“You have superpowers. Uhhh. Then, command her to appear here.” “When you buck against them, you're bucking against power, rich white folks' power, the nation's power – which means government power.” “If they want to tell the world a lie, they can tell it so well that it becomes the truth; and if we tell the world that they're lying, they'll tell the world even if you prove you're telling the truth. You have a name to protect.” “It's not always about money; it's about power. They're always armed. They could easily threaten anyone into their schemes.” My voice dropped but sounded sharp.

Riley POV Power does not arrive gently. It doesn’t knock. It doesn’t ask if now is a good time, or whether you’re emotionally prepared, or whether your lower back already feels like it has filed legal complaints against the rest of your body. Power comes like weather. Like birth. Like teeth. It tore through me from the inside. Not pain. Not exactly. Pain is a language the body understands. This was older than language. A pressure under my ribs. A heat behind my eyes. A silver-gold pulse moving through my blood like something had opened a door inside me and forgotten to warn the person living there.

Language is Power I write from the crematorium, but this definitely doesn’t make my story more readable than the others. It does make me an attention seeker though. That I’m in a flow, which, by the way, is also my desperation, only means that I fear of losing sight of a juicy plotline for my friend’s screenplay, and perhaps a few of your pats on my back. And finally, when I reveal this ebb and flow of thoughts to you, it doesn’t necessarily mean I have fooled you through the hooks and cliff-hangers of a narrative, which apparently doesn’t seem to go anywhere. All I want to assert through these revelations here, is that, language is power. Well, only when it is understood.

Alexander Langston Power is a fragile thing. I have seen it built from fear, wealth, and connections, and I have seen it crumble like brittle glass under pressure applied in all the right places. Tonight, Nathaniel Blake and Dwight Harlan would understand that truth in ways they had never imagined.

SIRELLA’S POV I opened my mouth, then closed it. I didn’t even know what to say. The Matron rose from her seat, moving with slow, deliberate grace. "Tell me, child, do you know what power truly is?" I clenched my jaw. "Strength?." She smiled. "Wrong." My hands curled into fists. "Power," she continued, "is not about brute strength. It is about influence. Control. Power is walking into a room and having every eye turn to you, not because you demand it, but because they cannot help it."

Power? A very underrated, yet overrated shit at the same time. After more than twenty-eight years of her life, Lyra is yet to decipher the force behind this single word. In this world- or at least the Part pf the world she knew- he who has power possesses a very great thing. He with the most power has the highest standing authority. But Layla had also learnt that asides this great wealth, fear and authority that comes from it, power also comes with a load of danger.

The first words from Clarkson's mouth were not the incriminating, numerical start of his prepared speech. They were softer, heavier, from much lower than any business proposal. "For all of my life," he started, his voice a rumbling, thrumming sound in the hall's excellent acoustics, "I thought power was a fortress." He paused, letting the plain, old-fashioned metaphor hang in the air. It was not the speech of Bloomberg screens and shareholder reports. It was fable speech, and it required a different kind of listening. The crowd leaned forward, expecting bloodsport or worst-case defense, but curious.

Leonardo had been young and idealistic when he first inquired about the importance of power. His father had offered a cryptic response: "Power is a double-edged sword, Leo. It has the potential to protect and serve, but it can also corrupt and destroy. The key is in how you choose to wield it."

Yet. He looks at her. "You do this a lot. The distinction between wrong and outdated. Between not having something and not having it yet." She looks at him. "Language is precise or it isn't. Imprecise language creates imprecise thinking." She holds his gaze. "You know this. You just don't say it out loud." "You're making assumptions about what I know."
