When The Moon Hides Her Crown
She didn't say anything as I took her toward the path away from the cliff, somewhere away from the crowd, the sea, and especially him.
It was only when the sounds of the others faded behind and I was about to let go of her hand that she suddenly yanked her arm free.
“What the hell are you doing?” she demanded, stepping back with sharp, startled eyes.
I turned, pulse still racing. I had actually acted on instinct. I controlled my uneven breathing and replied, “You-you looked uncomfortable…”
“Uncomfortable?” Grace cut in, voice high. “You decided to drag me away like a jealous ex? Did I miss something?”
