He tried to pull her into his arms but she was quick to push him away, her face contorting into a look of anger. "No, go away. Disappear from my sight." She stumbled away from him, and he attempted to hold her, but she held a hand out to stop him, her eyes fixated into a glare. "After all, that is what you are good at. I do not want to see you!" She exclaimed, and in the process, she swayed, her weak knees giving out on her.

"Because I'm done." And just like that, she turned away from him—this time, for real.

As I gently pull away, I look into those piercing brown eyes. “Mekayla.” “God, not you again. You like a damn…you are everywhere. I was trying to do the same thing as you, but it seems that you were only playing me for a fool. Next time you don’t want to be in someone’s company, just say it. Don’t get your lapdog to pull you away.” She struggles with great protest to pull away from my grip; there is no way that I am letting her disappear…not like this.

Something she couldn't acknowledge without breaking herself so she pulled away averting her gaze "I need to change."

She pulled away sharply, her eyes flashing with anger and something else—hurt. “Don’t, Cross. Don’t touch me. Don’t follow me. And don’t fix this.” She turned and walked away, her boots clicking against the wet pavement. Each step felt like a gunshot reverberating in my chest. I stood there in the shadows, watching her disappear into the night, the ghost of her words lingering in the cold air.

She just wanted to cry but her mind kept telling her that she shouldn't cry. So, she listened to her heart and held him close for a while. “ Don't pull away. ” She whispered against his ear finding his muscles stiffen just as she hugged him. Nuzzling her nose against his neck, she inhaled his masculine scent deeply and exhaled out before tightening her hold on him. Her heart was beating out of rhythm without any specific reason. She just wanted to hold onto him until her mind convinced her to maintain a safe distance. “ Thank you for looking after me. ” She breathed out and pulled away from him.

She was looking at me while walking fastly. "Aze, let's go! I need to get you away from here," she said and pulled my arm toward an opposite direction but I still stayed on where I am. What is she doing? Is she trying to keep me away from her and escape again? Damn, I'm already sick of escaping! All I want now is to help and fight with them.

He pulls away reluctantly. "Excuse me."

We sit there like this for a couple minutes before she pulls away and looks at me. "Do you have to go?" she says, her eyes starting to water as she looks down "I'm sorry if I sound clingy, I just don't want to be away from you right now..." she trails off when I put my index finger under her chin and pull her gaze up to meet mine

She yanked my arm away and stormed off. I exhaled and ran a finger through my hair. “Arabella…” I muttered under my breath. “What are you doing?”
