When U Need A Friend Romane & Geschichten

I think I have become weird too. People do not normally say that the environment indulges into you if you stay for major time in a type. What am I even thinking? I thought groaning. “I don’t know what to say and what to accept.” I finally said and turned to stare at him. “How about you help me?” he asked making me frown at him in confusion. “Help you?” I asked, thinking maybe he has gone more weird. “Yes! You see I do not have friends. And I am thinking to start having one. I want your help in the form of you becoming my friend.” He explained.

It’s the closest he comes to telling me to calm down. He couldn't have done this before. Sat in someone else's mess without looking for a way to fix it. Growth. Eventually he asks, "What do you need?" Not what's wrong. Not let's talk. Just, what do I need. Nobody asks me that. I'm the one who handles things. I don't get handled. "I need to be a better friend," I say. He doesn't ask better than what, or to whom. He just nods. "Okay," he says. "Start tomorrow."

“I’m sorry.” “Don’t be.” He shook his head. “Can we still—” “I need that,” I said quickly. “I need us to still be friends. I genuinely need that, Mike.” “Of course.” The laugh that followed was more real. “God, what kind of question is that? We’re friends. That doesn’t change.” He looked at me steadily. “Whatever you need. I’ll always be here.” “Thank you.” It came out quieter than I intended.

“Can I ask… has anything happened recently that might’ve made you feel unsafe?” I nodded, just once. He didn’t ask what. He didn’t push, he just paused and gave me a moment. “Have you been able to talk to anyone about it?” he asked gently. “Like a counselor, or even a trusted adult?” I shook my head. “No one because there is nothing to talk about..” He smiled softly and rubbed my hand gently. “What about your friends?,” he said. “Having friends is to share your problem….it matters more than most people realize, but sometimes,” he continued, his tone never shifting, “we also need someone who isn’t in our personal circle. Someone trained to help us carry what’s heavy.”

I need them to be vulnerable, to loosen their guards around me- "Listen, if you ever feel like you need a friend or someone you can rely on, always know that I'm here for you."

She chatted to me all the way there, relaying stories about sharks and turtles and one about her friend’s dad who missed a step and had to go to the first aid station to have his ankle wrapped. She told me the story from start to finish, including how the dad loved cycling and how sad her friend was that they weren’t able to go cycling together that next weekend. “They go every weekend, mommy. It’s their thing and they couldn’t do it.” Heart wrenching sadness flashed in her eyes. It was only there for a moment, but it bugged me. Was she sad because her friend hadn’t been able to go cycling with her dad for one weekend, or because she never would?

But here he was, offering friendship when I needed it most. *Thanks,* I typed back simply. *I could use a friend right now.*

She patted my back and sighed. “I’m going to tell you something that I probably should have told you a while ago, but I didn’t want to upset you. Are you ready?” she asked, pulling away and looking at me. She looked directly into my eyes like she was looking for any sign that I might object. When I didn’t, she continued. “Needy is a bad friend. She’s always been a bad friend. She has never treated you well, in my opinion. But that doesn’t need to ruin the amazing time we are going to have together! Because let me tell you, I would never do that sort of thing to you, ever. That’s cruel. I just want to have fun with my friend and do normal girl things without stress. Sound good?”

I'm picky when it comes to someone that I will trust. "I just needed company now Yeah, I just needed someone around Yeah, I don't care what song that we play Or mess that we make Just company now Comfort crowd~" I smile as I think of what bond I will make with my brother. I was also thinking on opening the topic about our parents.

He really needs to. "But you know, there is a good chance of making friends. That is why I also think what you are doing today is right and just." Marco said, laughing.
