PART I Outlawed & Despised Chapter 1. The sun was setting on that cold winter night. Darkness came and filled the small town near the main city of Derrell. The small town was a place that the city of Derrell desperately tried to distance itself from, or pretend it never existed. No matter how hard the city tried, the small town was known as ‘the small town near the city of Derrell’. The town had a name, but not one that many could remember so it fell into disuse.

“Where the fuck are you at?’’ I snapped. “Location’s changed. Meet me at Odious’.’’ “The fuck man?’’ I cursed, but the call ended right after he spoke. My blood boiled against my skin, squeezing the phone beneath my knuckles. I fought thoughts to blatantly ignore him and drive back home, but I'd told Meagan that I was going to see John and I would be back late. She probably wasn't expecting me for the whole of the night. I made a detour back to the city, far downhill in the wildest part of New York was where Odious’ was located. How did I even end up finding a place like this?

I was on a lone street, everything looking weird and out of place until I noticed Mama Owen’s closed shop in a distance. A closer look on the route, I realised this was the street leading camp. I was back at Westfalls but it didn’t feel like Westfalls. It was creepily quiet except for the howling wind. The only source of light was the moonlight.

Chapter One The night was made for outlaws. Engines roared across the abandoned railway lot, bouncing off the skeletons of old freight cars and graffiti-stained concrete walls. The Iron Fangs called it their home base, though “territory” was a better word. A hundred feet of cracked asphalt, a haze of cigarette smoke, cheap beer, and music pounding so loud it rattled bones.

Michael’s POV The air felt wrong the moment we stepped out of the car, like the ground itself was holding its breath, waiting for something inevitable to happen. I adjusted the sleeves of my jacket slightly as my eyes scanned the area in front of us. The location Hale had given us was just outside the main part of town, an abandoned industrial site that had long been forgotten by anyone who didn’t have a reason to come here. Perfect for something illegal. “You sure this is the place?” Nick muttered beside me, his voice low as he shut the car door quietly.

“No blind spots tonight.” Outside, two bikes parked waited for us already. We mounted up at the same time, engines roaring to life, the sound echoing down the street. The moment we took off, everything else faded. The city blurred around us as we sped through the streets, cutting through traffic like ghosts. The ride was fast and tense. I didn’t speak. Neither did Raid. The location Mark sent us was on the outskirts, far from the noise of the city. An abandoned warehouse district near the docks. Old money territory. Old blood territory.
