I looked over at Lucas who nodded at me. There was a brief pause on the other end of the line before Professor Black responded, his tone alert. "Of course, Shana. What's on your mind?" "We found a book," I explained, exchanging a glance with Lucas. "It's... special. And we think it might have some connection to the Ethereal Palace." A hint of surprise colored Professor Black's voice. "A book?" "It's a locked book that is all about the White Wolf," Lucas continued. "It was hidden in a secret room in the palace. We wanted to open it to see if it could give us any clues."

They drew many vials of blood from me, but compared to the pain caused by the cancer, it was a trivial experience. My fingers trembled as I reached out and pulled one book from the shelf. It felt warm, almost alive. I was so curious to see so I opened it slowly.

Curiosity got the better of me, I pulled the book from the shelf and opened it. The pages were yellowed, filled with various illustrations of werewolves, they were white wolf's, their fur were as white as snow. Their red laser eyes shown through any darkness. As I flipped through the pages, a sudden chill ran down my spine. The room around me began to fade, and the colors of the illustrations bled into reality. I shut my eyes hard as the world around me began spinning. As everything seemed to calm down I gradually opened my eyes to a new world.

“Fine! I need two things, there was a book that belonged to my father that you took when you killed him, I need it back.” My brows came down in a frown, I couldn’t grant her that, she was talking about the book of shadows, it was made out of black magic and contained everything dark and unholy, it was written in hidden Latin so no one could read it, not even me. “How dare you ask for that? You and I both know I can’t give it to you, it wasn’t given to your father, he was supposed to protect it.” “It wasn’t yours to take either!” Her eyes bore into mine with intensity. “I’m sure you already know how powerful that book is but I also know that you’d give it to me, you’d do anything for Ryan, th

His eyes lit up suddenly. "Shadow writing",he whispered. Layla raised her head and stared at him. "You can read it?" "The pages aren't blank",Xavier explained to her.
