"I felt a massive discharge of telepathic energy, Zilo. The sensors in the medical wing nearly overloaded," Klaus said, his voice as smooth as silk. "Did the Montague girl finally break?"
"It wasn't her, Klaus," Zilo said, looking up with eyes that were no longer red, but a deep, bruised violet. He held out his hands, the crimson light dancing between his fingers like dying embers. "I killed Toby Montague. I didn't even use a weapon. I just... I thought it, and it happened."
