“Why aren’t you angry?” Kimberly looked away briefly, then back at him. “Because,” she said slowly, “Daniel and I aren’t dating.” The words hit him like a physical blow. “We’re not?” he repeated stupidly. She folded her arms. “He’s a family friend. That’s it.” Simon’s thoughts scrambled. “But the flowers, the whispering, everything.” “Was deliberate.” Her gaze locked onto his. “And you fell for it.” The realization dawned slowly. She hadn’t been clinging to Daniel. Kimberly had been performing for him.

Manager Kim was packing our things but was focused on our conversation. "Isn't it always like that? There’s always a party on the last day of filming," she said hopefully.
