I walked to the furthest bathroom in the east wing, desperate for silence. I pushed through the door and gripped the porcelain sink, staring at my reflection.
I looked wrecked. My skin was pale, translucent almost, and there were dark smudges under my eyes.
I splashed cold water on my face, gasping as the chill hit my skin. I looked back up, water dripping from my lashes.
My reflection stared back. But something was wrong.
My eyes.
My blue-green irises were shifting, swirling like ink in water. The blue was deepening, darkening, bleeding into a vibrant, glowing violet.
