Why We Remember Book Review Novels & Stories

Even though his accent has a distinctive Chinese accent, I can understand him well. I saw the book and suddenly he became familiar to me especially when the book was shown on TV. I searched my memory to remember where I found this book. Until I remembered where. "Holy shit, I have that book!" I said that you thought I was talking to someone here. That's right. I remembered that I bought it before but I didn't read it because I was so busy studying that I forgot about it. Life in Pandora... My interest went up because of what the author said. I keep thinking if I brought that to my condo. I'll just check it.

FLASHBACK NARRATIVE ~16 years ago~ *Aidan's Elementary School* A little boy ran into the class of about fifteen kids. "Y'all!" He called the attention of his mates. "I heard 'boo hoo' couldn't get his fees paid. Boo-hoo!" He went to stand in front of a petite boy of around the same age as himself, blocking the little boy's view and taking his books from him.

"Sorry. I was so busy today, I didn't realize that time passed so quickly." "Are you okay?" Celine asked. "Yes, I'm fine. It's just..." Camilla began. "Did you read that article earlier?" she pointed at the book. "Oh yeah. Do you like it?" Celine replied excitedly. "Yes, the summary was interesting but I don't remember anything," Camilla frowned. "The author didn't explain why she wanted it to leave out the title, I think she forgot. It's all a bit confusing. What's the point of it?"

"Something I've since forgotten. But I remember the quality of the afternoon. The light through those windows and the fire and the sense of the house holding us." He looked at the windows. "You remembered the feeling of it," he said. "Not the specifics." "The feeling was the specific." I paused. "That's how I knew it was right for this." He turned to look at me. "A place that held people," he said. "Like the book." I hadn't consciously connected those two things but he was right. The new book's question and the reason this property had surfaced as the right place were the same question from different angles.

“I can’t believe you knew all that stuff! “Zinnia chirped excitedly, “You sure are smart! How did you remember all that, with dates and names even?” “I don’t have any little tricks to pass along or anything like that, I just study a lot so my brain is in the habit of remembering.” “I would have thought all those laws and stuff would be super boring to read. I’ve never even taken those books off their shelves!” “Well, I believe the laws of a people are a great way to learn about them. There are other books are that are definitely more fun, but the laws of a people give a more accurate picture than either the storybooks or the history texts.”

But easier wasn’t always healing. She took it to the counter. When she got home, she set the book on her table, unopened. It stayed there for days staring back at her, daring her to read, daring her to remember. Across town, Liam didn’t realize he’d left that receipt behind. He’d gone to that same bookstore a week earlier, chasing distraction. He wasn’t supposed to be there either. But sometimes, you end up in familiar places without meaning to pulled by habits your heart still remembers.

His fingers twisted in and out of mine as he continued to interlace our hands and then pull them apart again playfully. "That was my favorite book. I still have it too!" I smiled at him.
