My alarm was going off so I rolled over and turned it off. I heard my mother hollering from down the stairs. "Willow get up. Your going to be late." I pulled the blanket over my head and yawned. I knew I should've went to bed earlier but I was just starting to get into a really good book and I just couldn't put it down. My name is Willow Addison. I am sixteen and starting my junior year in high school. I have always been a bookworm I guess you can say. Not that I didn't have friends but I have just always been into my studies. I kept impecable grades and stayed out of trouble.

Something we weren’t prepared for. That evening, Willow went outside to practice her powers, like she did every day now. I could see the tension in her shoulders and the way she tried to control the magic that bubbled inside her. She wasn’t just learning to control it, though. She was learning to understand it and learning how to wield it in a way that could protect us all. We followed her outside, as we always did, staying close by. I stayed back, watching her tense shoulders move her hands to throw a ball of fire. There was something beautiful about the way we all moved together now. It was like we were finally in sync, finally functioning as one.

"I've brought small bottles of water, nuts, and dried fruit. You may leave a gift of all three for the tree you choose. And don't be like one of my students, don't eat the thanksgiving but do open the water and pour it out at the base of the tree. Our tree friends don't have hands or fingers to open it themselves." And just like at the airport, she ran out of the cab and got lost in the crowd, the good thing was that she didn't forget to bring her suitcase. I paid the driver and got out of the cab. I started to look for her while I looked around the place. The boarding school was amazing, it had a soccer field, basketball court, swimming pool and even a meditation garden. At the entrance there was a mural with drawings made by each of the students.
