I would love to be out of this world. I turned my back on Kharim Celia and went straight to the window just on the side of my bed. Realising the electronic blinds were still up, leaving the entire cabin exposed to the pitch-black wilderness, I stood up and walked over to flip the wall switch to lower them. The motorized blinds began their slow, rhythmic descent. But when the fabric was barely halfway down, the air was ripped from my lungs. My eyes stretched wide in absolute, paralysing horror.

He lifted the pipe slightly, as if it weighed nothing, and used the tip to nudge the blinds open a crack. "Wow," he laughed. "You really do have a great view here. Beautiful, really." He turned to me. "Even though you’re not that high up, it’s nice to see everything from this window." He let the blinds fall back and took a short step back, staring at them. "Hmm… I don’t know. These look terrible. Why would you cover the window with something so ugly?" Without warning, he raised the pipe and dragged it hard over the blinds, ripping them apart, tearing them down.

“I’m going to need you to stand.” He instructed. My eyes snapped open to see the rope he somehow had attached to part of the cliff wall, through the shattered windshield. There were inches between the rope and the jagged frame of glass that remained attached to the van, but it was our only option.
