I prop Cree against the wall, his eyes fluttering closed. "Stay with me," I plead, shaking him gently. "We're so close." One side half torn from where someone must have grabbed it too hard. Glass still glittered faintly near the window despite someone’s attempt to clean it. The scent of herbs and something bitter lingered in the air, mixing with the sharp smell of wood and cold night. And the window. Broken. Repaired badly enough that I could still see where it had shattered. I stared at it.
