"You mustn't allow the witch circle to get a hold of this grimoire. You must fly off." My tummy twisted again and while I felt the rough twist in there, I glanced down to see a swirling wind picking every single thing up into the sky as if chasing after me. But as I got higher, a bit close to the clouds, the furnitures dropped down and crashed into my shed that had caught in flame. The cries of the witches were deafening, and while I traveled to an unknown destination, my heart got filled with the ones that I hold dear. . . "So you escaped, until now? And would you please be straight forward and stop beating around the bush! Fuck!"

I collapsed to my knees, clutching my chest as the agony intensified, my vision blurring with tears. “Bella!” Edward’s voice broke through the haze, panic laced in his tone. The fire in my veins erupted, and I screamed as the room filled with blinding light. The pain struck like a lightning bolt, sharp and unforgiving, coursing through every vein and bone in my body. I screamed, clutching my chest as the heat inside me burned hotter and brighter. The first change came with a searing sensation across my back. Quickly spreading, the flames blocked my way. I felt a wave of panic as I looked for another exit. The walls were already collapsing, and the windows were too high. "Aria!" Now, Killian's voice sounded closer and more desperate. "I'm present!" As smoke filled my lungs, I coughed and yelled. --- Killian emerged from the fire a moment later, his eyes blazing with resolve. He took hold of my arm and dragged me over to the closest window. "Jump!" he commanded, pushing me forward. I looked back to the journal I was holding and paused. All the answers would be lost if I lost it now.

Their bodies fell lifelessly to the ground, but we didn’t pause. With a wave of fire, we engulfed their remains, flames licking hungrily at the floor and furniture, turning them to ash in an inferno of vengeance. The blaze soared high, consuming everything in its path, but we didn’t look back. We scooped Talon up, cradling him on our backs, and spirited away, racing toward Elysium, our hearts pounding with the urgency of our escape.

Spitfire had no idea what he was actually planning and it was better that way. "Auras don't weigh anything, you big idiot." Spitfire snarled through gritted teeth. The wings were starting to flicker. They were getting farther and farther from the bridge. "I can't let go of you to snatch any of these demons who are falling past us." Spitfire had pulled them out of the range of where the demons who were still tumbling off the bridge were falling. Not one of them had wings or any other power that Spitfire could steal to help them out of this predicament. The no-fur was sweating, straining to keep the wings whole and get them back to safety.

Ru said, forcing thoughts of what had almost happened out of her mind. They watched as Nat sent both Keepers sprawling in opposite directions and the angel’s wings literally ignited. The woman began to scream as flames shot up from her back, catching her hair on fire as well. A breeze from a nearby Keeper of the Wind put the fire out, but by then Nat was on the move again.

They were shooting. “Down!” I shouted, and with a sharp tilt of my wrists I banked the wings. The maneuver pulled us downward, increasing our speed but making us dangerously vulnerable. Bullets streaked past beneath my left wing, tearing through the air we had occupied seconds earlier. If even one struck the wingbone, the escape would be over. Sadira’s grip around my neck tightened. My wings beat again, now pushing forward along the edge of the valley. I followed the ridge, using its shape for cover.

I forced the words from my parched throat, and as I spoke, more coppery sweetness rose up. In the end, Jessica accepted my apology. When I left the Fire Dragon territory, I had no ice element to shield me. The blistering lava washed over me again and again. By the time I finally set foot on solid land, my wings were burned, my skin sloughing off in rotten layers. Sharp, blinding agony screamed through my body. I could feel my life force draining away fast. No one came to meet me. I stared at the empty, desolate expanse around me.

I would die hated, alone, for something I did not do. Then the sky changed. A blood-red moon burst through the clouds, bathing everything in crimson light. Gasps rose from the crowd. The flames around me suddenly felt different, like they were feeding something inside my chest instead of burning me. I screamed again, but this time it was not just pain. Something cracked open in my back. Sharp, tearing agony. Then pressure. Then... release. Huge ancient wings exploded from my back. Dark, leathery, powerful. They stretched wide, knocking the flames away from me in one powerful beat. The ropes snapped like a thread. I hovered a few feet above the burning stake, wings keeping me up.
