Her temperature was now alarmingly high, and her bones were twisting at a very painful and slow pace. Lucifer still couldn’t see them, but he instructed a team of thirty warriors under Hank to go outside and provide backup for them. The mines were still between them, and it gave them cover. Lucifer didn’t know what to do now. They were in the middle of the war, and asking Adolphus to come back at this time can change the whole situation. At the same time, Winter and her team reached there, and without wasting a second, they joined the fight. They had put a special kind of patch on the left side of their chest to assure the pack warriors that they are with Sebastian after their initial confus

she whispered. Winter undressed and took a shower. When she returned, she found that Xavier had already stripped off his clothes but was lying haphazardly across the bed. She approached him and began to clean him up. Her hand paused as it reached a certain area before slowly wrapping around it. In his drunken slumber, Xavier felt a warm hand. Instinctively, he flipped over, pinning the dreamlike figure beneath him and kissing her deeply. When Winter awoke the next morning, she found Xavier still asleep beside her. She reached out to touch his face, and he suddenly opened his eyes.

Moon asked confused. "Weren't wolves created without humans? I can't imagine how Gaia might have turned out had the human half hadn't been released." Moon commented. "You must understand the importance of the part we all play in this. I have dealt with Chad and his Council long before I was your alpha. Winter was an old wolf, and I was his Luna. Chad’s wolves are different beasts in their own rights, they need to be reguarded with respect, or whoever the Council faces in physical or psychological combat will fall every time." she paused to sip her coffee.

He looked up at me and spat out a chunk of the man, and nodded, ready to go. I walked on, opening doors to make sure they were clear as we passed, knowing Xander and Elias probably had Balista cornered in one of them. I kicked in a door to the left, and no one was there. "Clear!" A few wolves ran past, but Seven stayed on my flank. Gunfire, growling, shouts, and screams echoed off the walls in the warehouse as we made our way through. I kicked open a door to the right. Nothing. "Clear!" Then I came to another door across the hallway and heard voices. I kicked it open, and Xander and Elias were standing there nude, having just shifted, and Balista and Sasha were backed against the wall.

"You scumbag! Our son is dead because of you, and you’re still here flirting with another woman?!" Brynn immediately shielded him, chin lifted arrogantly. "Calista, what do you think you’re doing? He stood up for me. Anyone who goes after him is going against me." I let out a cold laugh, picked up another glass, and splashed it across her face. "You’re no better. Look at what you’re wearing. Anyone would think you’re for sale." Her expression twisted instantly. She clenched her fist and swung at me. "I respected you as his wife before, but don’t push your luck!"

“You’re right. I’ve been too respectful of her father’s sacrifice, but I won’t let her hide behind it anymore. There have to be limits, even to a deathbed promise.” “The question is,” I said quietly, “will the elders see it the same way?“ Lira’s eyes flashed, her voice sharp as a whip. “They should’ve seen it, right? If the elders want to talk about respect, then maybe they should remember who actually bled for this pack. Angie’s father, look, Alpha Isaac Winterbourne he wasn’t just some soldier swinging a blade. He was a high-rank vigilante who single-handedly turned the tide of the regional war a decade ago. Without him, the Black Widow pack would’ve been wiped from the map.”

Chris carried Winter into the room that looked exactly like the one on the island and laid her down on the soft bed. When he went back downstairs, Mr. White had also woken up. “Mr. Xander,” Mr. White said, stepping forward. Chris gave a quiet hum of acknowledgment. “Winnie is asleep upstairs. If I’m not back by morning and William comes to pick her up, don’t stop him.” Mr. White froze for a second. So he hadn’t been mistaken. Winter really had returned to Blackwood Manor. He nodded. “Understood. Are you going out?”

By the time I was 16, I had already hacked, stolen, killed, and destroyed a few people’s lives. “This is why he nicknamed me ‘Black Widow’. I could get in, infect, and disappear without anyone knowing until it was too late.” I whisper, avoiding looking at Lia. “Granted, it wasn’t something I was entirely comfortable with, except for a few like Angelo’s father. They deserved it, but ultimately it was all just to so-called ’help’ my uncle, the boss, cover his ass due to his gambling and whatever other bullshit he was doing.” She runs her hands through her head, careful not to mess it up too much or her perfectly made-up face, heaving a heavy sigh.

Not being a citizen would make legally purchasing land difficult, if not impossible, so we’d have no choice but to squat. Sasha and I traveled in our wolf forms for weeks, enduring the relentless darkness and brutal cold, temperatures plunging between negative thirty and negative forty degrees Celsius. The wind howled through the barren landscape, slicing through our fur like icy blades, but we kept moving, driven by necessity. At night, we sought out whatever shelter we could find. Survival demanded efficiency, and warmth was scarce. We huddled together as we slept, pressed against each other to keep warm. It was a strange shift. We had always been friends, but never this close. Before the
