“I summoned them. Tell them what you need and they’ll fetch it.” I swallowed hard and reached for my satchel at the foot of the bed. My fingers fumbled as I pulled free one of my mother’s spellbooks, the worn leather cover cool against my clammy hands. My heart raced as I flipped through the pages, skimming past wards, charms, and healing rites until I landed on the spell I needed. “Yes, here.” My voice shook as I read the faded words. “I’ll need wolfsbane, powdered moonstone, river salt, and fresh sage. Quickly!”

Her fingers flew across the pages, searching until she froze. “Here it is,” she said with her voice steady. “Priori incantatem - it’s a spell to reverse a spell. It doesn’t just undo the original intent; it turns it on its head, amplifying the opposite effect. If the ritual is reversed, instead of liberating the rogues, it would bind them completely. The witches would have absolute control over them and everything connected to their magic but there’s something more… the pure, those are not like the rogues…” “We all die… don’t we?” I said, completing Rachel’s statement in a sad realisation.
