They grinned with too many teeth and the forest recoiled. Heat flared as Wrath stormed onto the field, scorching the grass to ash. Blackened armor hugged a colossal frame, glowing cracks bleeding light through the plates. Chains wrapped their arms, spitting sparks with every movement. Their cloak was torn and dark with old blood. Wrath was a storm in a body.

An unspoken need to embrace something or someone. She yanked back, dragging herself from me, moving anywhere else except from me while sending me a scorching gaze that could scar one, Intense enough to cut through one’s skin, revealing the hatred and rage she harbored with her glare shot at me once she stirred to consciousness. Her sudden recoiling from me as If I wore a thorn that could pierce her triggered the darkness that had been lying low quietly in me. Her scowling face, evident of her displease, sent goosebumps crawling on my skin.

My eyes burn from being open for too long so I blink a few more times to rid myself of the tears. Alpha Zade’s glare could scorn a person, but it does nothing but make me feel prouder. Seeing that I can get under his skin so well so easily gives me a sick thrill.

That's a strange thought, but I don't care. He chased his breath when he stopped in front of me. I just watched him have his inhale and exhale session. I crossed my arms without taking away my glare at him. He shook his head when he saw it and put his hands on his waist. He looked at me like a joke, but I fought back. Glare fights, this is nothing compared to all the struggles I've won in life.

Then the reflection bled. The change began slowly, a darkness creeping in at the edges like spilled ink on parchment. My radiant self began to blacken, the warmth leaching from her features as shadows crawled across the mirror's surface. Her smile warped, stretching into something unnatural, lips pulling back to reveal teeth that grew sharp as she watched. Her eyes began to hollow, the warmth and life draining out of them until they became empty pits.

He shifted his gaze to the others present, revealing an unprecedented fierceness in his eyes. Faced with his hostility, the crowd immediately raised their guard. Their eyes gleamed with a chilling light as they gripped their weapons tightly. They didn't dare to slack off in front of this person. However, the Scarlet Harbinger's strength was strong. They were uncertain whether they could handle him. "Go to hell!" the Scarlet Harbinger roared. A formidable force, a blood-like waterfall, surged toward the crowd. The Scarlet Harbinger was displaying his full power. The blood-colored aura became increasingly powerful, reaching a point where it seemed to cover the sky.

His face leaned in close, and it was covered with fury. His eyes were burning with harsh rage. His angry glare cut through me. His breath felt hot on my breath. His voice came out venomous, and his cruel words struck me harder than the physical pain. “My bad! I didn't realize you were a whore.”

“If you’re not mine, you won’t be anyone’s, Corinne. Especially not that hybrid.” Then Glacer stepped out of the smoke. His clothes were torn. His eyes burned with a terrifying golden glow. He didn’t look at the guards falling around him. Only at me. At Aldric’s hand gripping my throat. “Let her go, Aldric,” Glacer said. His voice was deeper than thunder. “Or I’ll turn this entire place into a mass grave for everyone who carries your name.” Aldric laughed, unhinged. He pressed the blade against my vein.
