His skin remained stubbornly human, his mind trapped in a prison of flesh and bone. Frustration and despair gnawed at him, like a pack of hungry wolves tearing at his soul. He could feel the restless energy of his inner wolf churning within him, eager to break free. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't seem to make the transformation happen. All he could do was watch as a few scattered tufts of wolf hair appeared on his skin, teasing him with their fleeting presence.

I felt at peace here. My eyes flash open at the sound of an animals feet running through the forest behind me. I turn my head slowly toward the sound as I rise to my feet. I could hear it getting closer before it stopped just behind the tree line out of sight. A growl echoed through the woods and over to me. I take a step back instinctively, my foot sliding off a rock and I stumble before catching my footing.
