Grey looked at me, expecting an explanation. Roam tossed the flask towards his rival who easily caught it. Wolfsbane was odorless, had barely any taste, making it an adept killer of Lycans who could smell most poisons a mile away. The younger Alpha sniffed it with a furrowed brow, then went to taste it. I knew a small taste wouldn’t harm him, and I knew my furious brute had tasted it himself in my diner to confirm his theory, but still my wolf went into protective mode.

I rubbed some of it on my body and hoped it would mask our scent from the rogue wolves.

There’s no fire.’ He wiped his eyes with the back of one paw, but it only made it worse. ‘I think it’s teargas. The kind the military or police use.’ The wolf gagged. ‘Whoever is trying to attack us, is making damn sure they have an advantage.’ Zane snarled at me, grabbed me by the scruff of my neck. ‘I hope to the gods this is not your doing, Necolai! That you’ve brought your enemies to our pack.’

I leap into action once again shredding my clothes. When I get there, everyone is already in the heat of battle. I rip one rogues head off. Suddenly a smoke bomb is thrown in our direction.
