The world dropped lower as paws hit snow. Screams echoed. A massive wolf stood where Lyra had been. White fur gleamed beneath moonlight, streaked with calico gold and silver like painted fire. Ancient. Powerful. Impossible. Eloise lifted her head proudly beside Vaelrion. And the dragon king—the terrifying, ancient dragon king—looked at her wolf with naked awe. Mate. The bond thundered. Complete. The pack stared in shock. Because wolves did not awaken this late. Because no wolf looked like that. Because dragons were real.
