Zachary quickly opened the door and was greeted by a strong and strange heat. He was weakened by what he saw. He could not believe it. He hears questions from pack members outside his house. Half the room is already on fire. The fire was strong, but it did not spread. It just spins around the room. No smoke, but the heat was strange. Because they were at the door, they could see what or who was the source of the fire. In the middle of the room, the woman was standing with her whole body burning. Zachary could see her ace, tears welling up in the girl’s eyes.

A chubby lady questioned him, giving him death stares, which made him wonder what exactly he had done. Astounded, he denied stalking her and moved to walk out of her sight when she stopped him again. Losing his patience, he turned around to face her. " I won't call the police, just hand that book over" she said, sipping her coffee. He looked heavenward, cursing her in his mind. Never was he willing to release the book or reveal his identity either. " I know you picked that book mainly because of me. Hand it over nicely and I'll let you in on some information about me"

Aries’ arms were wrapped around me, but I didn’t register it at first. I was crying. Sobbing. “I’m here,” he said again, his voice tight with panic. “You’re safe. You’re here with me.” I buried my face in his chest, fists gripping his shirt. “She was there again. The woman. I saw her.” He stroked my hair, kissing my temple as I shook against him. “Tell me.” “She stood in the fire,” I gasped. “She didn’t move. She wasn’t afraid of it. She… belonged in it. But I still couldn’t see her face.”

LETTER FROM THE AUTHOR Good day, It had been quite a roller coaster ride for everyone, for me, and all the readers who silently watched over me as I continued to write the first book of my first series, A Woman’s Worth. It was quite a blast writing this book. This one had started in 2018 and had been on hiatus with only 10 chapters published for the year 2018-2020. I had even forgotten about this one and the concept and plot was a little different before. But now after thinking things through, I picked it up once again on November 11, 2020 and started writing it from the beginning till the end. I experienced writer’s block 4 times while writing this.

I had to start to doze off by the time the lock opened. I woke up my sleepy mind. My heart was beating furiously in my chest. Will, he hurt me again? The door opened and an elderly woman came in. I moved my head in her direction to take a look but did not raise it. At first, she squinted at me then locked the door behind her. She put the key in her pocket. She had a first aid kit in her hand. She didn’t have the features of a Greek woman, instead, she looked American. Maybe she can help me. She is old. She must have a conscience.

I heard the woman screaming because of the pain that made me cringe. "That's enough ..." I whispered. "AREN'T YOU HAPPY THAT WE DID THAT TO HER ?!" A woman shouted at Red so I was wide awake and I saw how Red kicked that woman while she dragged some of her companions and then stuffed them with food. "DO YOU THINK I'LL BE HAPPY WITH THE STUPIDITY YOU DID HA ?!" Red shouted at the five of them and then fired a fire from her hand causing my eyes to widen. "FIVE OF YOU, SHE'S JUST ONE DO YOU KNOW THE WORD MISERABLE HA ?!" Red shouted and threw fire at a woman near her causing her to shout loudly.

Perhaps this will give me understanding. I order two waffle sandwiches with pieces of omelet rounds and bacon slices, remembering how Evers enjoyed the maple bacon donut that the wolf male had gifted me. The little woman presses the silver square on the screen twice, it says "WFB" and I make a mental note. I sit next to the door as I wait on the pink haired beauty to arrive. I observe the people who enter and those I can see from the window. I pretend not to see Evers as I 'read' the book while she makes her way towards me. "Aislaine! So sorry, I'm running behind. She sought the warmth from it greedily every single time. The flames had grown weaker and weaker with every life taken and she wasn’t sure how much she could give before the candle went out entirely. Until she was left in the dark with nothing to hold onto. She wasn’t sure what would happen when the flame did die. Maybe she would drown in that bleakness. Maybe that’ll be the end of Ilana Meyers.
