It was ten in the evening, the best time of reading stories since few students were around . As soon as I reached at the entrance , I swiped my badge to the 50 years old university's 24 hours Library guard and after having a look at it , I made my way inside . Since it was late in the evening , the main reading room was almost empty except for some students who were either asleep or nearly falling asleep .

At this time of the day, there are already people who are coming in and out of the library building, doing their tasks, borrowing books, and staying inside to have a more peaceful environment to study in. After meeting Tanya’s daughter Timmy, I also met the other workers here in the library and learned their names. And that meet and greet and a bit of chit chat lasted for like two hours or so because by the time that we had actually started to get to work then it was already past 11 AM, and in the next hour we will have our lunch break again.

My only option, the window was hours from closing. “I have to go back.” I wobble, the pulling on my leg makes me wince. “Please, no one is going to go to the library at this time.” She pats down the empty stop. “Someone might.” She rolls her eyes, she’s right, the library is usually quiet around the afternoon unless there’s someone that needs a book and that’s unlikely because is summer and none dares to step foot inside that building unless is necessary. “I will call you tomorrow.”

The library closed at ten every night. Madelyn arrived at the library at seven o'clock in the evening, and there were still a few people inside. She sat in her usual spot near the window and opened her workbook. Eventually, the lights in the library went off one by one. The librarian approached her and said, "Hey, the library's closing now." Madelyn was not surprised that Forrest did not come. Only after leaving the school did she remember that her home was under renovation. Her maids and driver were all not at home and the last bus had already left.

She then proceeds to prepare for breakfast. It is two pm and Wanda has not seen Milos, not even once since she woke up in the morning. She walks around the mansion but does not see him. She decides to visit the Territory Library. Soon, she immerses herself in a whole lot of werewolf history books. She is intrigued by what she reads, and she doesn’t know when night falls. The library never closes, she learns, as the wolves are encouraged to study whenever they choose. Footsteps jolt her out of her research. She turns to see who it is.

"Another nice part about the library is that it is open till 11 in the night and opens for the day at 8am which means that I can go there once the boys leave for school and go there after tucking them in bed."

Lyra had begun arriving at noon to claim it before anyone else. No one else came at noon. She had learned this by the third visit — the library had its users, mostly scholars and pack elders and the occasional young wolf doing research they didn't want to do in the common areas, but the noon hour was consistently empty. Something about midday and wolves — the biological pull toward activity during peak daylight, the instinct that found sitting with books during hunting hours vaguely unsatisfying. She had no such instinct. Or if she did it had been so thoroughly trained out of her that she couldn't locate it anymore.

"There's a schedule, you can go there at Tuesday at four to six PM, Thursday at twelve noon to four PM, Friday at twelve noon to four PM, and Sunday at eight AM up to twelve noon, and again at four PM up to eight PM." . Please make your way to the front desk if you need assistance. By 11, the building is empty except for us. I finish the walkthrough and check the cameras clear. Just me and Jalen.

The hoodlum-looking boy at the front whistled, lecherously eyeing her. "Noona, you're quite pretty. Why don't you let me hug you?" The librarian's skin crawled with disgust. "You're quite young, but your manners are rotten. Did you check your time? The library closes at seven. Come back tomorrow," she scolded further, not backing down.
