World Fire Novels & Stories

"This is the reckoning! No survivors! No peace! Only justice!" The camp erupts in a chorus of shouts and howls - rage, fear, and fervor boiling over. As they scatter to prepare for the slaughter about to come, I stand alone at the edge of the ridge, eyes fixed on the horizon. In the fading light, the forest seems to breath in anticipation. This war isn't about peace anymore. It's about making sure that no one ever forgets what the wolves have done. And I will burn the world down to make sure of it.

Everything was charcoaled and obliterated, and on fire, and in the center of the blast zone was a huge crater. “There seem to be no survivors. And no more buildings.” Galen said looking around. I looked all around and noticed the fire was still spreading. “We need to stop the fire before it destroys the forest,” I said. “She is right Galen; there seems to be nothing we can do here. Sadly, all lives are gone.” Bryden said. “How do we stop the flames? On Earth, we call the fire department and forestry. But, we are not on Earth.” Galen said looking around at the growing flames.

And as the flames closed in, my magic answered in kind—fire and frost colliding, the world trembling under the force of it. This wasn’t going to be a trial anymore. It was war.

I braced myself, but no amount of preparation could stop the flood of images that hit me. Flames. The forest, once green and alive, was engulfed in a violent blaze. The sky above was black with smoke, the heat of the fire suffocating. I watched as the trees that had stood for centuries collapsed into ash, their mighty forms reduced to nothing. And amidst the destruction, there were wolves—wolves from both packs, Silverclaw and Draven’s, locked in a battle of pure chaos. Their howls pierced through the roar of the flames, cries of pain and anger that chilled me to my core.

"Why settle for this feeble world when there are countless others waiting to be conquered? You can be a god, worshipped and revered in every corner of the universe. This world is but a pitiful speck, and it's time to leave it behind." Seizing control, Marienne unleashed a sudden burst of power, and a massive vortex of fire engulfed her, its flames soaring towards the sky. It spread like a wildfire, devouring everything in its path—trees, rocks, even the very air. The inferno's intense heat radiated, causing the ground to tremble beneath Visenya's feet.

“We must stay united. Whatever this is, it will test us. The light and shadow wolves cannot divide now.” A grizzled elder stood abruptly. “You speak of unity, yet your brother walks in shadow!” Before Liora could reply, the doors burst open. A young wolf, eyes wide with terror, stumbled in. “Fire!” he cried. “The sky burns!” Outside, flames licked the clouds. A solar flare, like a great burning river, streaked across the heavens. Moments later, firestorms rained from above. Trees ignited instantly. Whole territories turned to blazing infernos.

The cloak, once deemed useless, now seemed like a desperate necessity. In her solitude, she couldn't help but wonder why Helen hadn't come to visit her. Had she been abandoned in her time of greatest need? Sophie felt an overwhelming sense of loneliness and fear in the darkness, while everyone else was comfortably inside, basking in the warmth of a crackling fire or slumbering peacefully.

My hand grips my phone so hard, I fear it might crack. Andrei walks into the room with a tablet in his hands. "You should see this" He says as he hands the tablet to me. I take it and begin to read the news displayed on it. Two of the Italian mafia owned hotels just exploded, taking hundreds of lives in it, The headline read. Above the headline is the picture of the buildings burnt to the ground. The air leaving my nostrils feels hot against my skin. I'm practically seething.

He bit his lip. I screwed my eyes shut trying to imagine him as an hyena or anything ugly because at that moment I wanted to crawl into his arms, beg him to touch me and do whatever he wanted as long as he got rid of the fire that was burning inside me. But he'd make a joke out of it and the thought of just that made me mad at him. "Oh Marvelous." His voice made me open my eyes instantly. "Why are you so---"

Immediately, a feeling of foreboding slams into me, but before I can even attempt to stop those that are closest to him, I watch a wall of fire erupt from the ground, burning those who are in its path. ‘NO!’ I roar. ‘DON’T GO ANY FURTHER!’ But it’s too late; the men on the border are already being consumed by the flames, and me and the rest of my men can only watch it. ‘Alpha!’ Warren calls, coming to stand beside me. ‘What’s the order?’
