She’s so small in my arms. Too small to hold this much power over me. And yet, after everything, here I am, wrapped around her. Not the other way around. Never the other way around. Her cheek is pressed to my skin, lips parted slightly, and those delicate fucking arms are clinging to my torso as if I’m something that can keep her safe.

Andrew whispered softly, his words wrapping around me like a comforting blanket. Andrew wrapped his hand around my waist, pulling me closer as I whispered, “You don’t have to face this alone. I’m here for you, always.” as if my words broke through the walls he had built around his heart as tears started streaming from his eyes, releasing the pent-up emotions he had been holding back for so long.

A part of me thought that he would push me away, but he wrapped his arm around me, enveloping me with his warmth. “I missed you too, little menace”

But as they stepped from the street into the velvet-soaked entryway, one of her friends grinned and reached into her clutch. “Hold still,” she said, already reaching up. Eden blinked as the black half-mask was tied behind her head—simple, delicate, and sharp at the edges. It matched the mood of her dress perfectly. “There,” her friend said with a wink. “Now you’re ready to disappear.” Eden smiled, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. Not disappear, she thought. Just... not be herself for a while. The music inside throbbed low and steady. The air was warm and fragrant with perfume, laughter, and something heavier Eden couldn’t name.

I said and she wrapped her arms around me in a hug. "It's okay. You don't have to do this alone or worry because I'm yours. I'll always be yours"

When she nods with an approving smile, he holds his arms out to me. I melt into his arms, feeling the warmth of his embrace envelop me, his heartbeat syncing with mine. I close my eyes, savoring the sense of safety that welcomes me. He pushes my hair back from my face, the heat of his breath dancing across my cheek as he leans in and whispers in my ear, “You look beautiful.”

He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a tight embrace. I was caught off guard by his actions, but I melted into his embrace. I buried my face in his chest, letting his warmth and comfort wash over me. “I'll always support you,” he murmured, his voice a soft rumble against my ear. “You’re not alone.” His words flooded my body with warm jubilation, although they also plunged me into a state of mixed sorrow. I held onto him with everything as I gripped the fabric of his shirt like my life depended on it.

Lucas said nothing at first. He simply stepped forward, as if pulled by an invisible thread, and wrapped his arms around her. The embrace was sudden and desperate. It was not the kind of hug that asked for permission or offered comfort. It was the kind that begged for forgiveness. The kind that said, without words, that he was unraveling. His arms trembled around her as if she were the only thing keeping him from falling apart completely.

Without a word, he slipped beneath the covers, his warmth enveloping me as he pulled me into his protective embrace. Spoon-like, we fit together, his arms wrapped securely around me. I nestled my head against his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. In that moment, the world outside ceased to exist, and it was just the two of us, finding solace and comfort in each other's arms. He seemed to be a peace but I wasn't. The heat that radiated off his body left me hot and wanting more of his closeness. I imagined myself suddenly pouncing on him and kissing him.
