Write A Book In A Year Novels & Stories

The good, the bad, and the ugly. I try to maintain continuity within the story and characters, which is quite a task considering I have elements spanning over almost twenty years, but if you catch anything that seems off (including other, basic mistakes), please let me know! My goal is to deliver a slow-burning, intriguing story with faster-paced action and subplots, hopefully, I'm able to do that! This is also my first published book, so thanks again as I navigate this learning curve!

The book took three years to write, which was longer than she had expected and exactly as long as it needed to be. The first year produced something she recognised, on rereading, as the version she had written for other people: shaped toward what she thought readers needed, the difficult parts present but managed, the emotional truth audited before it reached the page. It was honest in the way that public statements were honest: accurate without being complete. She showed it to Lucien, who read it in two evenings and then sat across from her and said: "It's good. It's not what you're capable of."

They’re not helping. I received this. I received this. I have been pretending to be a real wife to Jaydon for about a month now. Hello everyone. I wanted to apologize for not updating for a long time again. My day job has been brutal along with taking care of my kids. And when I do get a few hours of free time to write at night, my Impostor syndrome prevents me from polishing what I've already written to be uploaded. It's so bad that even though you guys tell me you love the book and I'm earning, I'm still doubting myself :( Especially since my first book has been published on the app for a year now and it's still not as big as I dreamed it would be (lol dream big, right?)

Now that you know what an inciting incident is, the third rule helps a lot on how to choose the best inciting incident for your story: Let me repeat it again: 3 this incident upset the balance within the character's world. This inciting incident tipped the character's world, a little or a lot, and their world changed. So don't start your book with chapter one depicting an "ordinary day" of your character's life, and end it with "this is how my life has been so far, and I wish I can change it". I understand that you want to set their emotion of longing for a change before you present the change, but this voids your chapter one, and gives your story a slow pace.

He couldn’t make up his confession as he went along. He turned to a fresh page in his notebook. The previous page was full of planning notes for his current story. Darien’s mind sparked an idea. He could write his feelings as a book instead and give that to Zach. His romance writing skills were infinitely better than his verbal ones. He didn’t have time to write an entire book with his hectic schedule and his current book. He needed sleep. No decent CEO ran a company without any sleep. It would have to be a book proposal. I'm very happy about this. This is literally not my longest book, but I spent about three months writing it, which is something I normally don't do. 😔 Anyway, I'm happy that it's now complete! My thinking is that I add an authors note a the end of 'book' 1 so to speak and re-write the synopsis to advise any new readers that it will be 2 books in one. Alternatively, the other idea I had was to just have a longer book, but I don't want the length to scare off new readers. Thanks in advance! :)
