.. Tales of vampires and ghosts can only be seen in movies or in mystery books created by authors with deep imaginary thinking. They are Made up stories and nothing more. Maybe I was wrong! I tried to control my nerves but heavy fear gripped me. I shined the torchlight towards the direction of the noise but nothing looked odd. I swallowed hard and took a minute to gather my nerves before taking another step forward.

I wanted to scream but instead my whole entire body trembled in fear as I stared at him with my eyes as wide as saucers, my mouth gaped and in that moment everything came rushing back to me through those dark eyes, those dead eyes, “You!” I gasped in horror, he merely grinned at me as he tilted his head in amusement to examine my features. He seemed even more scary in this moment on top of me than he had that night, I was frozen in terror.

I stood there, frozen, unable to move, unable to look away. The bushes rustled again, and I saw it—a big, shadowy figure, its eyes gleaming in the dark. It was unlike anything I had ever seen, its form vague and indistinct, but its presence unmistakable. I screamed, my voice high and piercing, my body finally responding to the terror that had seized me. I turned and ran, my mind filled with images of the monster, its growl echoing in my ears. Fiona’s house was my only sanctuary, and I sprinted towards it, not daring to look back. I reached the door, fumbling with the keys before bursting inside, my breath ragged and tears streaming down my face.

My heart pounded in my chest, the fear clawing at my throat as their laughter filled the room. "No! Don’t eat me! Please, don’t eat me!" I screamed, thrashing violently, my mind racing as I tried to comprehend the horror unfolding before me. "I don’t even have any meat!" I cried, my voice breaking as I struggled against the inevitable. But suddenly, everything shifted. The world around me blurred, and I felt myself shaking uncontrollably. The sharp, cold terror of the moment was replaced with the warmth of my own bed. I gasped, looking around frantically, disoriented.

The ones meant to scare kids into staying inside after dark. But they were just stories. Right? Except A story wasn’t supposed to be running after me. A story wasn’t supposed to have claws. And yet, here I was. Running for my life. "Oh, dear Moon Goddess, help me! I don’t want to die! I don’t want to die!" I screamed inside my head as I ran for my life. My legs burned, my lungs ached, but I didn’t stop, not when the thing behind me was getting closer.

She kissed Cameron goodnight three times before he finally shooed her out of his room, and she was left alone in the living room, holding the remote. As she pulled her laptop on top of her legs, Sidney had the immediate urge to draft an article about her little taste of horror in real life. She could feel herself typing the words before the embarrassment seized her again. She didn’t want to tell people what had happened, either time. The story tasted as bitter and felt as deformed and unnatural on her tongue as the times she had to explain the dissolution of her marriage. The candlelight flickered across his face — and he began to speak. “This story is about the day I saw a human being die with my own eyes. But it didn’t end there. Because… the very next day, he was sitting in my class again.” The auditorium fell silent. Every gaze was fixed on that man — and inside every heart, something unseen knocked softly… like fear asking to be let in. A faint breeze moved through the auditorium. The candle flames trembled — and every shadow seemed to crawl along the walls like some hidden creature.

In 1983 a Mrs Carson of New York was laid out in our coffin, presumed dead of hear disease. As mourners watched, she suddenly sat up, alive as you or I. Unfortunately her daughter dropped dead of fright on the spot. I don't own any of this stories. I found them in some creepy books. I'm thinking of writing my own scary stories, but not anytime soon. Just remember, if you don’t want things to go bump in the night, don’t tell anyone else about them. Even now the shadows in my room play havoc with my subconscious, so I turn the light on and sleep with one eye open. Also, when my computer starts to go on the fritz just as I write a particularly spooky part of a story, I chuck it up to chance and swallow a little harder before checking to make sure that I have only one shadow. It’s amazing that I still get so scared as an adult. You sure would have thought that for someone who makes a living scaring people, I would know better, right?
