I have no choice. "Yes, of course. I'll get this one to bed but be careful." her motherly auro warms my heart a little as I give them both a smile and hug before setting off on another night of hunting. I'm not sure how I'm going to manage getting what we need when there's just the two of us but I'll figure it out... I have to. I start heading down the busy sidewalk taking in my surroundings and all the people as they go about their day. Christmas is close and it's pretty easy to tell the difference between the people that are just enjoying this time of year and the people that are late with their shopping and are in panic mode. God, what I would give to be either of those people.

My Christmas will be different then. “Mommy is waiting for you, baby. When you come out, we’ll cuddle not just every Christmas. We’ll do it every day. I’ll be your mother and your best friend. We’ll be the best duo in the world. When times are tough, they say sweets could help. I’ll buy a cake and we’ll share it together. This is indeed a troubling matter. I walk to the window over the kitchen sink and take in the colours of the autumn leaves. The sunlight making the oranges and yellows pop. It won’t be long until Christmas is here and I will have my pups with me. That would be the best Christmas present ever. Not that I ever truly celebrated Christmas. I would wake up on Christmas morning and find no gifts we didn’t even have a tree and no mom in sight.
