Ruth ended the call and left Alex and Lee with an astounded expression. “Oh God.” Their minds were about to melt down. Werewolves, vampires, witches—were all real. He looked at the stack of books on my desk, his eyes lingering on a tattered spine I had tucked at the bottom. "Wait, is that THE STAND?" he asked, pointing to the thick paperback. I looked down, my eyes landing on the book he was referring to. It was a survival horror story. Something about an alien invasion and humans getting wiped out one by one. "Oh. Yes. Worse, the hard length pressed against his abdomen left no doubt that the alien was entirely content with the situation. Panic surged through Leroy, and he pushed at the alien’s broad shoulders, but his attempts were effortlessly subdued. The alien’s smile widened, revealing unnervingly sharp, white teeth and a flash of fangs.
