"I'm going to uninstall it." The Daemon let out a shriek that sounded like a thousand modems screaming in agony. It moved with a terrifying, frame-skipping speed—one moment it was thirty feet away, the next it was a blur of shadow and bone-blades hurtling toward the console. "Xander!" Xander didn't flinch. He was the ultimate Hardware. He met the creature head-on, his tactical blade clashing against the Daemon’s bone-sickle in a shower of white-hot sparks. The impact was deafening. Even with Xander’s Alpha strength, the sheer force of the blow cracked the ancient stone beneath his boots.

"If your balance is weak, your opponent doesn't need strength to defeat you." He showed it to them very slowly. "Again." The two warriors repeated the exercise. "Better." I couldn't stop watching him. This was another side of Xander. Calm. Confident. Respected. All of his commands were received to his full attention. No one asked him a question. No one ignored him. A loud voice suddenly interrupted my thoughts. "Move faster!" I faced away from the goal. There, standing tall in dark training clothes, was Luna Beatrice.

My heartbeat instantly quickened just the feeling of her delicate skin on mine. Blaine pulled her hand back forcibly, shooting me a glare. “Not yet, gorgeous.” Not yet, not now, or maybe not ever because she feels so damn good. “I’m Xandry by the way. Nice to meet you, Blaine.” I smiled and shook our hands. “I don’t care who you are, Xander.” She broke the stare, looked down at her son, and calmly said, “Come here, big guy,” “It’s Xandry. Alexander Henry.”

It hid her true eye color, but it also suppressed her powers to a minimum, so there was no more considerable change that others wouldn’t notice. Zach, Xander, and Aiden were growing fast, and both already showed that they had powerful genes. Xander is the most powerful one, even though he is the youngest. Zack and Aiden don’t mind, though, and love training with Xander when Liam and Mack run and do different things to build up their stamina, of course without pushing them too far, and he makes it fun for them. Liam says to more stamina they have, the easier it will be for them when they are old enough to build their muscles and start fighting.

I mutter, and Theo and Mark step back, just a little bit, as the rest of Xander’s crew rise to their feet and step forward, flanking him once more. “You want to fight?” Xander spits, shrugging his jacket off and letting it fall to the cold ground. “Then let’s fight.” I glance over my shoulder at Theo and Mark as the bass of the hip-hop beat thrums through my body. My eyes scan the lot as I face the opposing team once more, taking in our opponents, all skilled dancers with fierce expressions on their faces. She could hear the snapping of bones and she knew that the fight got more serious than it was before. Right outside, Alpha Xander stood above Alpha Norman. “Spare me please.” He begged. Xander wanted to spare him so he could be an example to other Alphas who wanted to be over ambitious. He needed to remind them that this was his territory and nothing happened without his permission. But then he looked at the three girls whose lifeless bodies lay in the grass. He made up his mind.
