Still, I can’t drink right now for health reasons.” Nia stepped forward and stuffed the wine glass into my hand. “Health reasons? I never heard anything about that. Jonah is humbly apologizing to you, so can’t you be magnanimous for once? Just drink it!” Her gaze was sharp, and her tone was a command.

Walking more wouldn't hurt. At the rest stop, there was a small shrine. Rolf lit a candle and prayed silently, while I stood beside him and did nothing. This time, I had nothing left to wish for. I knew now that everything depended on me. After praying, Rolf pulled a bottle of water from his bag and handed it to me. "If you're not feeling well, I've got sugary drinks and electrolyte water. Did you eat breakfast? I brought food. All your favorites." Watching him dig through his bag and pull out all the snacks I used to buy for myself… I had to be honest, it did sting a little. But the feeling passed quickly.

Nev asked in an excited voice and heard a grunt from her Granddad. “He is just jealous that you love me too much.” Nev said, waving him off and I coughed before turning towards Revu to see her tears rolling down but smiling too. “The prayer is going to start.” We heard Mom’s voice and everyone started walking towards her while I walked near to Nev. “I am such an amazing teacher. You need to thank me.” I mumbled placing my hand on her waist and pulled her to me. “I already did yesterday, right.” She mumbled back in a teasing voice.
