Unfortunately for me, Evelyn enjoyed my suffering way too much. Well, she started dramatically, “at least now you know our employer has muscles.” I nearly choked on my tea. She laughed even harder. The rest of the morning passed with work, but my thoughts were annoyingly filled with Caleb. Everywhere. His voice. His smirk. His stupid teasing. And somehow, that irritated me more than it should.

That stupid tiny voice at the back of my mind yet again interrupted my thought. “Okay dude we need to schedule you breaking in my thoughts, like damn I was checking my boss out. On another note, it means you're safe and I'm happy to know that. H & M miss you tons. They won’t shut up about you, which makes this so much worse. Each time I look at the empty side of our bed and think about how lucky I used to be a few weeks ago and wish I’d told you sooner. I don't know how I'm going to live through these days without you by my side, so I'm trying my best to make sure I can get out of here as fast as I can. It's probably going to be a long wait, but I promised I'd come for you, so I'm going to work hard to keep that promise.

So I am just going to hope that the wait goes quickly. Well, let me close this for now. It rang twice more before my call was sent to voicemail. “ The number you dialed is out of reach. You can drop your message. Thank you.” I think my heart increased in speed.
