Rushing over I pull Grayson back as he hits Jasper. "Stop, Raven said it wasn't him." I push him further away, turning I look at Jasper. "Get comfy, you're not leaving yet." I turn back to Grayson. "He called me Grayson, he could have fucking ran and left her. Let's just get the story from Raven before you start fucking killing people." His eyes stay fixed on Jasper. "Killing him won't remove the guilt, Grayson." His eyes come back to me and I hold my hands up. "Hit me, it won't help either." I watch as he turns and walks to Raven and lifts her.

He then proceeded to introduce each candidate and their unique abilities: - Aaryn: CHANGE - the power to transform into various forms. - Jet: FREEZE - the ability to freeze enemies. - Raven: SNOW - the power to create snow, even on a sunny day. - Amarok: ARMOUR - the ability to turn his body into an impenetrable armor. - Katniss: SNIPER - the skill to easily target enemies from a distance. I smirked confidently, determined to become the top candidate for the next trainer position.

“I don’t understand how that’s possible. I saw Brad’s body. There was no faking that. And if they did somehow, where has he been for eighteen years?” No one answers. Because none of us know. Because the truth is worse than the questions. Mom turns to Raven. “Your birthday is in four days. When your powers fully awaken, you’ll be stronger, strong enough to track Drake and Delaney without burning yourself out.” Raven nods, but she’s pale. “What if I’m not ready?” “You will be,” I say, sliding closer. “You’re already stronger than you realize.” She leans into me, tired. “But what if Jason comes before then? What if that thing wearing my father’s face comes?”

Raven growls as she tries to look down, I brush my thumb across her jaw and follow her eye line, not letting her look away. “Bunny, look at me, you are more capable than you believe. Yes, you’re a strong warrior and more lethal than the rest of us, but I believe you’re capable of protecting people from death when you learn how,” I hope to help Raven understand she is more, I know she is far more capable than she believes, and has more to offer than death.

Jacob reassured him confidently. "Half of the men you appointed for this mission are already dead," Raven pointed out skeptically. "I don't trust you, Jacob. Remember, I was the one who revived you. You serve me, and if you fail to deliver what I want, I will not hesitate to kill you." Jacob's eyes flashed with a murderous intent but quickly returned to a calm demeanor. He nodded in acknowledgment. Raven then left the room, and unfortunately, Rick had to move away swiftly to avoid being caught spying on their conversation so that I couldn't get a clear view of Raven's

Raven insisted. I pried Jenner's grip off and stood up. I went to Raven and pried the fork out of her hand. "Give that to me, Ms stabby. You are still healing from those nasty bites" I chastised her. It was easy talking to her…it was like we were old friends. Raven blinked "Why am I the one in trouble? They re the one's looking at you like they want to pounce" I looked at all of them. They were beginning to assemble like the avengers of marvel except they are not the good guys and again, what the hell did I do?!

Plus, he is on the path of becoming a healer and has set some moral and ethical boundaries around his practice, so he shouldn’t be a threat to you. Still, you should know his weakness. Raven feels emotions in their extremely raw forms. Not just his own, but others’ as well. But he lacks a healthy emotional coping mechanism which makes him practice forced apathy. To weaken him, challenge his apathy, force him to confront his emotions. It will destabilize him. His strong triggers are his father’s abandonment, inferiority complex towards Asher, and a broken toy he obsessively tries to fix when he’s alone. The toy must have some significance.

Jade's pov Feeling a drip against my cheek I cracked open my eyes and could only make a blurry silhouette of a person standing over me. “She's coming back,” a feminine voice asserted and I opened my eyes wider to see that bitch Raven standing there with Monica and Aiden. “Why is she here,” I asked harshly. Seeing that her brow was creased in worry with Monica I frowned more in confusion. Aiden cleared his throat and stepped closer. “My queen, Raven, is gifted with blue hellfire from Lucifer himself and can kill or heal with it. She saved your life and that of your daughters after Monica went into hysterics over losing you both,” he explained.

Raven's eyes sweep over me, slow and appraising, before their lips curl into a knowing smile. "Oh, honey," they purr, clapping their hands together. "This is going to be fun." Raven practically vibrates with excitement, their eyes sweeping over me like I'm a couture gown they can't wait to tailor. Neon lights reflect off their sequined jumpsuit, throwing glimmers of purple and silver across their dark skin. I shift under their gaze, suddenly hyper-aware of how ordinary I must look compared to the dazzling explosion of colour around me. But Raven doesn't seem to mind. They take a step closer, eyes glinting.
