She had married into another pack in Southern California when she’d found her mate there.
A boy had shifted too early, and he hadn’t been prepared for it. He was still a young teenager, though I was too young to remember his exact age now. He’d been aggressive in his wolf form, and my mother had kept me behind her for my safety, but I’d peeked around just enough to watch in fascination as that pack’s Luna worked with him.
She coaxed him, spoke to him softly. He had the mind-link already, though, so it was a lot easier to communicate with him. The healer brought some herbs, and after that, things seemed to get easier.
