The driver was stupefied, and asked curiously, "Who? Who dare to have Mr. Wilson waiting?" Driver had been Liams driver for three years and had seen many people by following him. In this city, it's everyone that waited for Mr. Wilson for a long time. But today, it's the first time for him to see that Mr. Wilson waited for someone patiently. He or she must be high in status. Driver was more interested in whom Mr. Wilson was waiting for. Now Rita opened the door and walked towards them. Hearing the steps, Liam put down the newspaper. Looking at her who was in the garage, he winded down the window, "Your car needs to renew the oil. I let the housekeeper change the oil and maintain the car."

I gulped and dried up my imaginary bead of sweat. "What happened to the driver that I was with earlier? Is he back at the villa?" I asked him. It's dark outside and on top of I am unfamiliar with the place, the darkness from the stormy night made it hard for me to see whether we were near the villa or not. I breathed deeply when I realized that he wasn't saying anything not because I was distracted but because he was purposely ignoring me and my existence like I am some sort of a ghost to him now. "Kairos, I know you are mad at me but would you please tell me what happened to the driver? He is not at fault here. I hope you didn't do something such as firing him from his job."

He also knew he had to be honest with his mother or she won’t ever let go. “Mum, I..am going to see Him..” Vienna was taken aback. When Schuyler saw her look, he pleaded, “Please mamma, I can’t wait anymore. It’s killing me to not see him. And ..and.. I have a feeling, he too is searching for me. We’re in a dead zone out here.” “Shit,” I said out loud. The driver took his hat off and ran a hand through his hair. “I can shift and run back to the mansion to get help. Do you mind waiting here? I’ll be as fast as I can. Thirty minutes or so.”

I woke up from my daydreaming when the driver stops the car, not in front of my destination, but instead we were on the opposite side of it. "Is there a problem?" I asked, looking at the high-rise building across our location. The mid-fifties driver scratched his gray hair and smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry miss, but I'd just had a flat tire. Can you wait?" I glance at my watch again. If I wait, I would miss Stella's appointment. I shook my head, took a brief look at the waiting shed nearby, and smiled kindly at the old driver. "No thanks. I'll just walk," I didn't wait for his answer. I opened the door and ran to the waiting shed.

He couldn’t figure out what the problem was. "What's the issue right now?" She questioned the driver, expecting him to identify the source of the issue. "I don't really know, ma. I think I should look for mechanics around," the driver responded with concern. She was irate that she would have to wait an additional minute or hour to get to the church.

“Please take me there, and wait for me. If by any chance my friend is not available, I will order another ride. I can pay extra for you waiting.” The driver put down his book in the small compartment under the driver’s seat and fixed his red cap. Then he accepted the money. “Will do, sir! Artie the blue bunny service will come right away!” the man said. Then he looked over to his bunny that was calmly relaxing on the street. “Hey, Artie! We have a customer!”

One of them leaned into a car window ahead of us and said something to the driver, then waved them through. Another was checking the back seat of an SUV. My stomach dropped. "You okay back there?" my driver asked. "Fine," I said. "Just warm." He shot me a smile and turned up the AC. Two cars ahead of us now. My driver rolled down his window and leaned out. "Morning! What's the hold-up?" The guard said something I couldn't fully hear. My driver nodded and pulled the car to the side. "Just going to step out and ask what's happening," he said cheerfully. "Two minutes."

I swallowed hard, before tapping on the text to see it's content. The text didn't read anything, it was just a picture of a plate number. My heart froze. I looked up at the driver, "What is the plate number if this car?" The driver’s eyes lingered on me through the rearview mirror for a second too long, his expression unreadable. The silence in the car was heavy, suffocating me more than the stale air of the sedan. "I'm sorry Ma'am, is there a problem?" he asked, his brows furrowed.

Asa The text cursor blinks mockingly against the blank surface of my screen as I tap my fingers aggressively against the steering wheel while I drive to campus, sending Kirill yet another message. Where the hell are you? I type for what feels like the thousandth time. He doesn't answer. Again. I wait ten minutes, sitting in the parking lot while the cold autumn rain drums a relentless, hollow rhythm against the glass, before sending another one. Nothing. The bastard has completely disappeared off the surface of the earth.
