-KARINA- I LET out a long, shaky breath. It felt as though a thorn had finally been pulled from my chest when I saw nothing terrible happened to Zeke. Disappointment was etched across his face. His beard had grown thick and unkempt, his body leaner than before. His sharp jawline stood out starkly now, and the dark circles beneath his eyes made him look exhausted—like a man who hadn’t slept in days. What happened to him to make him look so worn?

“I’ll be in my quarters. Call me if anything arises.” With a salute, General Gregor watched as Zeke left for his chambers. Once inside, Zeke swiftly changed his clothes, signaling to his assistant with a subtle gesture. They donned different attire and quietly slipped out of the tower. Zeke joined a delivery carriage set to depart for its weekly exchange with a neighboring pack. The driver, upon recognizing him, nearly fainted from shock. However, Zeke’s movements were quick and precise. Before the driver could react, Zeke knocked him unconscious, ensuring his secrecy.

"Perhaps you are worthy after all." The world burst again in red light. I felt myself falling, falling, falling... My eyes flew open. I was back in the ruins, lying on the ground beneath the arch. Ronan, Kieran, and Caius were running toward me. But something was wrong. The sky had turned blood red. The ground was shaking. And standing at the edge of the ruins was a figure I never thought I'd see again. Zeke. But his eyes weren't normal anymore. They were sparkling purple.

VIVIENNE Zeke had disappeared after that day, and I chose not to contact him immediately, needing some time to calm down and think things through. Now, I was finally ready to talk to him calmly about the divorce. Just when I was about to call him, I found pictures of Zeke and a woman all over social media. The woman’s face was hidden, only her back visible. My heart pounded as I stared at the images, recognizing the familiarity in their closeness. It was clear that that woman was important to him, and the sight made my stomach churn.

Zeke laughing, goofing around, people cheering. Then the screen shifted. The music changed. “Zeke Evans,” my voice said. “Known for his charm, his leadership, and his ability to win anyone over. But that wasn’t his true name.” “Zeke Evans,” the voice-over said. “Or should we say… Ezekiel Evans Jr. Lillard.” The crowd quieted. Zeke’s smile froze. Images appeared: A yearbook photo showing Zeke's name, old newspaper headlines. “Son of Ezekiel Lillard, former business mogul and head of an underground syndicate.”
