Zeke My head is pounding and I keep hearing a rhythmic beeping noise. What do I remember? We were in the kitchen…Zeke suggested Drake and I shack up with one another…my body doesn’t feel right. Something is wrong here. I open my eyes. Blinding lights and too much white!

The blue crescent mark burned faintly against their arms but they seemed not to have notice, eyes fixed on each other. Zeke lowered his head to stare at her for a moment and his expression threw her off guard. It wasn't his usual coldness, his face was completely open. Not cold, not controlled, just him with an expression dangerously close to want plastered on his face - the want he had refused to name.

Yet, even as agony wracked his frame, Zeke refused to succumb to defeat. Through gritted teeth, Zeke muttered, his voice strained but resolute. "I won't... I won't let you... take Azure... from us. I'll protect... my family... until my last breath." But as Zeke struggled to rise, he couldn't deny the harsh reality before him. Devin's overwhelming power was too great to overcome. Every strike from the crimson-furred behemoth felt like a sledgehammer against Zeke's fading strength.

The only thing I had my eyes on was the exhaustion radiating from the man across the table. “You’ve never said what your plans are after this war.” I began, leaning forward. “What happens to you when this is over? When we crumble your father’s empire, and I’ve walked away with my freedom and Vanguard Acquisitions?” Zeke looked at me with fatigued eyes, running his hand through his hair. “The same thing that always happens, Evelyn. I find the next project that catches my fancy and I pour my heart into it. That way, I will always have a way to fill the void inside of me until I can’t do it any longer.”

Trent I woke up with my tongue glued to the roof of my mouth. I stared up at the ceiling, my eyes squinting as I struggled to focus on anything. I blinked several times before realizing I wasn’t in my bed. It wasn’t my ceiling, and it was definitely not my mattress. I slowly turned my head, not wanting to make any sudden movements. “Oh shit,” I groaned, realizing I was in Sade’s bed. The night came flooding back. There had been a lot of tequila.

To the right of the pool, I spot someone lying on the sun loungers. Zeke. I immediately walk over to him, for a second I think he's passed out, but he's not. He's staring at the sky with a cigarette held in his hand. "Zeke? What the hell! Where did you go! I was looking for you everywhere-" "Shhh," he holds a finger up to me, still staring at the sky. That's when I realise he's totally out of it. "Look," he points at the sky. "What?"

In order to buy time for his parents to escape, Zeke hung up the phone and rushed forward while he shouted, "Stop, stop!" Leo looked towards the sound and said with a frown, "It's you again?" Junette also recognized Zeke. She quickly climbed up and said to Leo as if she wanted to take credit, "He’s Alex Cohen's childhood friend, Zeke Martin!" "What?" Realizing that he had been cheated, Leo took a quick step to meet Zeke then punched him in the gut as he said viciously, "Didn't you fucking say that you’re an employee of Helse Pharmaceuticals? Huh? How dare you lie to me! Do you have a death wish?"

The climate in the room rises as hours count down to a critical moment of our assignment. Moving around the ill-organized table covered in maps and papers, the team gathers, standing in the midst of the preparations. Jake is looking straight at me, and although it is only for a few seconds, I can discern a shyness that does not often show itself. “How do you even manage it, Zea?” Jake’s voice is soft, his face intense. “You know I'm kidding but I'm still worried about you. Who decides to go to Congo suddenly? Are you even gonna come back?” “It was not suddenly.” I defend. “But I just found out now. You're not going to Parktown or something but to a different city. Are you going with your kwere kwere man?” “You're so xenophobic Uuka. What's a kwere kwere? Actually leave me alone. You're annoying me right now and I feel like not coming back.” I'll disappear in Congo if I like the country to avoid people like him who likes being on my case.

Zack roared. Zack barked, "Burning my self-energy!" Zack's ability had been upgraded into the state of that of a Chosen Celestial Being. The Chosen Celestial Being Rank was the same as the Honorable Rank! "Lucas the Demon, I've given up ten years of my lifespan just to kill you. Farewell, Lucas the Demon!" Zack said with a cold smile. Swoosh! Suddenly, Zack vanished from the spot. His speed had attained a terrifying stage.
