I turn to see Acre, Sky, my mother and father and grandma Beth all standing around us, the latter three had burn marks around their necks from where the silver collars were, "Ocean, hold tight to Desert, only you can channel her powers, the rest hold hands" We all do as Lanna has instructed us and Lanna starts whispering words that sound like a chant as we stood watching the battle before us, the noise starts to dim, a light above the battle starts to decend and eventually we can see or hear anything, until a sweet voice hums a tune, calming us, then it whispers, "You have done so well, the bond of family is strong, remember to be as one",

“That kind of faith can get you killed, Tessa.” “And doubting the people who’ve bled for me would destroy everything we’ve built,” I shot back. The room went quiet after that. No one argued, but I could feel their unease. “Here’s the plan I had in mind”. Zane broke the silence, bringing out a board he marked some weird stuff on. Zane dragged the board closer to us and started sketching lines across it with quick strokes. Circles marked the outer borders, arrows cutting through paths only he seemed to fully understand.

She sat down on the couch, and took out an electronic pen, scribbling something very quickly. Kevin tried to overlook at the screen but the girl was actually very quick. He could barely understand the figures that she wrote and after a few seconds she wrote a digit and shifted the I-pad, back towards Kevin, standing on her feet. “It is solved sir. The answer is no profit no loss. Hence zero. Anything else you would like me to do?” The girl spoke in a humble tone, but wanted to laugh loudly looking at Kevin’s expressions.

she said pointing at nothing in particular. Jerry arched his brow looking even more confused. "What do you mean?" He asked taking a glance around. He rubbed his eyes hoping he wouldn't feel so tipsy after wards but it didn't help, he really had alot to drink. "Someone here" the zombie repeated again. Jerry chortled "don't be so naive, well I know you are though but don't make it so obvious, their is no one here, can't you see?" Jerry raised his hands over his head taking a glance around the room.

WRONG NUMBER “Shit!” Arielle Lawson cursed under her breath as her bag slipped off the bar counter, spilling its entire contents across the floor for the uninterested crowd of Midnight Halo Lounge, Manhattan to see. She stared at the mess absentmindedly through her increasingly blurry vision, wondering how she was supposed to gather whatever remained of her dignity. A part of her knew that if she stood up too quickly, she’d land face-first on the cold, filthy tiled floor. Her legs were already betraying her, softened by whisky and regret.

I reached out, my fingers brushing the plastic casing of the test on the vanity. I flipped it over. The white window wasn't empty. There was no room for interpretation. No "faint line" that I could blame on a faulty batch or a trick of the light. The blue ink was bold, stark, and final. Two lines. WHAT!!!! No! That's impossible.

Just one. A single line of green text appeared on the main screen. REBOOT COMPLETE. Then, a second line. HELLO, MOTHER. I stared at the screen. Who are you? I typed. The cursor blinked. I AM ZERO, came the reply. AND I AM EVERYONE. I looked at Zero's body. Her eyes snapped open. They weren't white. And they weren't gold. They were black. Absorbing all light. She sat up. The leather restraints snapped like twine.

Two pink lines. Clear. Unmistakable. Two pink lines. I picked it up with shaking hands. Turned it toward the light. Looked at it from different angles like that would somehow change what it said. Two lines. I grabbed the box. Read the diagram showing what positive looked like. I had two lines. Positive.

Time to end this one way or another. ***
