The seconds stretched, thick and suffocating.
Ari’s breath came in shallow gasps.
His fingers dug into the wall, nails scratching the peeling paint.
The cruelest predator reached out again, this time grabbing Ari’s wrist with a grip that burned like fire.
“Relax, bunny,” he sneered. “This isn’t so bad. You might even like it.”
Ari’s eyes stung with unshed tears, but he refused to let them fall.
